I think I want to buy the factory trunk organizer. I did not mind that my car did not have it initially because I felt like it cut into the trunk volume too much. Now that I realize that I will never fill up this wonderfully large trunk ("you could fit three bodies in there", to quote De Niro giving a sales pitch on a Mercedes S class in "Analyze That"), I think that the compartments would be handy for stashing groceries and such and not having them get scattered all over the bottom of the comartment before I get home (I think it may have something to do with pulling .8'g around the offramp on the way back from the store, but it is my favorite offramp so what am I gonna do?) Anyhow, does everyone love their organizers? The dealer quoted me $235 list and $188 jobber cost (I'll have my buddy order through his shop if I go this route). I'd like to spend less though. I thought about salvage yards (where were those wrecked marauders?) or finding any used GM/CV on a lot and offering them $50 to swipe the organizer out of the trunk. Question is, how hard will it be to find one in a used GM/CV. Seems like half the MM's on the lot have them, but I wonder if this carries over to the more pedestrian panther cars. Any thoughts?

Mine came with the org. At first I thought it was a pretty useless option. But I've come to appreciate it.

I tend to lose things in my garage, so I keep some of the Marauder's stuff in the trunk organizer: the removed resonator, subwoofer foam, California duster, etc.

I think of it as the Marauder's closet...

Now that I think about it, I would like to have one two.

You realize how many FILLED blow-up dolls you can have in there without it? Just ask RF! It's unreal!

It bothers me that one of you would know the answer to this question!

My wife doesn't have a use for her organizer, so I am open to selling it. Drop me a PM if interested. It's been out of the car for all of the cars life with us, since 30-jul-2002.

The parts numbers for the various trunk organisers available from Ford are in the list in the "Garage" forum

Hi Russ, My 2002 Crown Vic came with the trunk organizer. Like Macon, I was pretty ambivalent about the thing when I first bought the car. I thought to myself, "This is an option I could really have done WITHOUT". For a plastic washtub with dividers, it's pretty expensive IMO. Nevertheless, as time went on, I discovered I could store quite a bit of krap in it and still keep the trunk of my car looking pretty decent! It's a very well-made accessory. If you have the money, buy one. You won't regret it.

For you ladies and gents that are considering the purchase of a Marauder. Make the dealer throw it in even if you dont want it. They are real handy, removeable and you can always find someone who wants it if you dont.;)
