I have a 2003 MM. I need new tires andI am having trouble finding the stock tires. Since the 2003 MM does not have TC, would it be alright to put the same size tire on all four wheels? If it is OK, what size tire would you recomend?

Thanks for the help....

Stock front tires are easy to find, the rears are just turning up now. IIRC, someone HAS put the same size tire on all four corners - but I believe it was the larger rear tire.

Yes, you can put the same size tire on all four corners, and it's been done using both the front and rear sizes. Since the fronts are a little less expensive and a lot easier to come by, that might be a good choice. Be sure to also get an alignment using the correct specs, not the factory specs.

Call Dennis Reinhart at 904.276.5003. He has a full set of OEM size tires in stock, and can get more.

There's a lot of flexibility in tire compound, size and style, it's been talked about quite a bit. Please use the search function for more details?

I had the stock rear size on all four corners of my 300A. No problems, e.g., rubbing, headlight readjustment, alignment.

I never even thought about the headlight readjustment issue. So there were no other problems either, like handling, or anything like that. Do you still have the rear size on all four corners?

The only handling change is that you can feel that you're on a taller sidewall when taking a corner VERY aggressively: the car rolls over a little bit more on the taller sidewall than it does with the shorter sidewall, With that said, I don't think it will be an issue unless you drive aggressively enough right now to wear out the OEM rears in 10K-12K miles. What I'm talking about is to the point where you're also wondering when the back end is gonna swing around so that it's visible out of one of front passenger windows. OTOH it does ride less harshly, particularly over speed bumps.

I have changed the fronts to the KDWS NT and went with the 235/50 size in the front. The only reason I originally went with same size on all four corners was to try and squeeze some more mileage out of the OEM tires which, as you know, give you abominable mileage on the rears. Since the new KDW's seem to give better mileage and traction and a larger than OEM size could be squeezed into the rear wheel well I went with a different size in front.

The short answer is that there are no adverse consequences to running 245/55s on the front of a 300A.

I was thinking more along the lines of running the 235/50's on all fours. This size gives more options for different tires. I guess this wouldn't pose any problems either.
