Here's some pics of my new S-55 GT stripes. These were custom made locally, so if anyone's interested in the measurements, it's 3 5/8" overall height. The outer stripes are 3/8" and the inner stripe 2 1/8" with a 3/8" gap between the stripes. Those were just "eyeball" sizes I came up with after looking at older Mustang GT 350 stripes on the net.

I think that's rather tastfull since the stripes aren't huge, and don't jump out at you. Nice...

Looks really good on the Silver B. White stripes might look good on a DTR. Anyway, it is VERY ORIGINAL.

looks good.
I think I would have gone for white. But it's your car.I tried white against the paint, but it didn't seem to contrast enough. I would have needed to go with a really glossy white to make the stripes stand out, which seemed out of place.
What does the S-55 stand for?
Nice look, BTW.
Best,

"From the article"
Actually making its mid-year debut as a 63-1/2 model, the 2-door Marauder was the "fastback" alternative to the massive 215"-long Monterey 4-door sedan (remember that reverse-slanting "Breeze-way" window that actually rolled down?). The Marauder was styled for the sixties with its stately road presence, elegant roof line, and optional S-55 "Buck Rogers" interior. yes sir, this was a car for the young at heart. A country club cruiser, a car to arrive in.
The Marauder, based on the Monterey body style, had a stylish new "fastback" roof line and a very classy road persona. The key differences in the Marauder S-55 (in addition to exclusive trim and badging) were the bucket seats and console, and most importantly, the availability of the 427 "Marauder V8."

Thanks for sharing so much information about the history of this car. I really, really appreciate it.

I like the stripes, however, as an owner of an 04 Silver Birch MM, I sort of dislike the black rocker moulding. I think it makes the car look taller from the side. Almost like the cars been lifted a bit.
I think Ford should have painted these body color on the SB and DTR cars. Has anyone else noticed this?
As I said, I do like the stripes, but I think they'd stand out a little more with the moulding painted silver.
Just my two cents...

I agree with you there, but short of having them professionally painted, don't have a fix other than actually lowering the car. I do understand the purpose though, since that part of the car takes the most beating from the road with bugs, tar, etc., being slung off the tires.
Nice touch! The car and the stripes look great.
The apartments in the background look a bit drab, though. :)
