November Cam Meet

Barb and I found a neat place in Gettysburg you might want to consider for a fall doo. It's Applachean Brewery on Rt.30 going into town from the west. They brew some fairly good beer, and some a bit on the average side, and one or two that are really good. The big news here is the food; it's teriffic, and the place is now our favorite. I know it's a bit out of the way and something of a trip for some of you, but Gettysburg in the fall is a very special place, and I think, worth the trip. Some might want to consider an overnight, and do a tour of the battlefield. The leaves will be at their peak the first or second weekend, and I think it would be a nice outing. There's a big parking lot for a mini show. Let me know what you think, and I'll make the arrangements, if there's enough interest. :)

OK, PLAN "B". How about this. As Gordon suggests, we do Kauffman's in the morning and end up at the Brew Pub about 1:00. There's plenty of room in the parking lot so we can hang out. Those who are more interested in the battlefield than Kauffmans do the battlefield in the morning, and meet the gang arriving from Kauffman's at the Applachean Brew Pub parking lot. If Gordon can make the arrangements at Kauffman's I think Saturday, Oct 22 or the 29th are the best dates, as far as leaf peeping are concerned. Also, Saturday November 5th would work. I guess it all depends upon when Gordon can make the arrangements at Kauffman's, if you want to bundle the two events.

For those who want to do the Battlefield, the self-guided tape tour is the best way, if you've never done it that way.

:eek: OMG, Joe, I can see it now! We'll put Gman up front, and have all the Black ones first, then Blue, then DTR, then SB. We'll be going up the back way, not using the park central entrance, and the security guys are gonna *****, when that convoy shows up on the security cameras. I think they'll pick us up as soon as we cross the tracks at Lantz. They'll think the Boss is making a suprise visit. Want to bet we'll have company? :rofl:

The dates are all screwed up. October 22 is merc's shootout at Mason-Dixon, and we can't do Kauffman's, Gettysburg and Mason-Dixon all in the same day. That leaves October 29th or November 5th. Any later and there won't be any leaves to see. It's like Charlie said a couple of months back, things like this should be left to professionals, so I'll just take a step back and .......:hide:

I was just about to post on the chosen date, when that darned Gorden took over. :neener: Anyway it's a good date, and reservations will be made. 1PM is a good start time, as we'll want to make the circle tour to Camp David before dark.

Anyway, we just got back from there, and had another fabulous meal. Everything on the menu, it seems, is wonderful. Barb had the shepard's pie, and I had the rabbit stew (sorry Mary) which was perfect. I had to bring Barb home & put her to bed, 'cause she washed down her dinner with two pints of their award winning Heffe weissen.

Joe, You're right, and anyway, I have to go to Snow Shoe that weekend, then off to Ohio the next weekend, then it's merc's Mason-Dixon doo the following weekend. That means the next chance is the weekend of Oct 29-30th or November 5-6th. Since I'm in charge, I select SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29th at 1PM! ....THERE! That's final! :banned:
