Ok I've known about the tire wear and have been holding off as long as possible, late October actually.
I've been checking every couple of weeks to see how they are. Backs I call factory slicks cause the centers are worn so much and tread is still left on the outter edges. I'm not too concerned about them but just enough. Fronts on the other hand, I pay more attention too. Inners are worn but not enough to cause any alarm, until today. I've been noticing a vibration or more a shimmy in the steering wheel lately. Actually in the last two weeks. Ok, I think to myself, need the front end aligned to Marauder specs, no problem.
Well I'm out toolin around with a buddy of mine in front of my garage. Me and him start talking about the car and what not. He notices my backs are worn. I tell him so are the fronts on the inside. We go over to check em out... Belts are showing in some spots and the carcass is separating in spots from the side wall. NOT GOOD.
Now I got to wait till Monday to have tires ordered and have the car parked til they come in. Guess I should've gotten them earlier.

Lesson: Don't be an idiot and wait til the last moment before something drastic happens.

Same thing as "Don't Hit the Go Pedal" in a S/C car while turning. :shake:

With a car that is worth as much as the MM... and a life worth much more... why wait this long?

Ford, lay-offs and a disappearing checkbook don't mix too well. Meaning, building Expeditions and Navigators at 2.60+/gallon doesn't make a good atmosphere for selling vehicles.
