Today my wife was driving home ( in my marauder ) from a job interview and was waiting at a light to go on to the Florida turnpike. In front of her was a big dump truck with the load bed in the up position. She kept a good distance from it and when the light turned green she decided to try and get around it to avoid the rocks coming from the back of the dump truck. As she started to go around the dump truck it hit a pot hole and the left over rocks from the load spilled on to the road and on to my car. She tried to avoid the rocks as best she could but would have hit the gaurd rail. After coming home she looked at the car and saw the damage and then had to call me and give me the news. The rocks sc***** up my front bumper, Hood, Side mirrors, grille, roof, and part of the front doors. All I can say is that I wouldnt want to have to be her when making the phone call letting me know what had happened. Thank god she is ok but unfortunatly my marauder wasnt soo lucky. I called my insurance company to put in a claim for the repairs. Ill be taking my car to the dealership tommorow to have it repaired....Im just concerned that it will be a noticable difference in the color of the new and old paint. I tried to get the dealership to have the whole car painted and they said no. Next I called my insurance and gave them the whole speech about the car being rare and limited # of production and didnt want to have a noticable difference. They said no as well. Sometimes you can never win no matter how much you try and how frustrated you get....What sucks the most is that I will be without my car for at least a few weeks..I got a rental ( 05 Dodge Dakota ) which is nice buts its not the same... Well guys and gals Sorry this was soooooooooo long I just had to vent, and who else better to vent with than a bunch of my fellow marauder brothers. I just hope my car will look good once i get it back.:censor: :censor: :censor: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :banghead: :banghead:

Have the dealerhsip check the radiator & Air Conditioning fins. They ride low and can get dented from rocks bouncing around.

Good for you Mark. I had a similar experience and the trucking company president said, "So sue me and in the meantine get the F off my property. I couldn't find a lawyer who would take the case for less than the cost of a new windshield. That was New York...go figure. Got whacked recently here in Florida, don't know by whom. Checked with my insurance company expecting to pay the whole shot myself and discovered that here in Florida insurance covers the whole shot. They even paid the installer to come to my house for the replacement windshield.

Sorry to hear what happened to your Marauder. Glad your wife is fine. Just take your time and find a good body shop.

That is a damn shame. It reminds me of my newly painted Mustang GT convertible getting hit by a trailer hitch receiver that fell off the truck in front of me. Looking forward to see ing this when it shows up at my workplace later.

Hey Ghost, weren't you complaining that your car was keyed or something by some crazzy dude in a Dodge Magnum? Well on the positive side, now's a good time to get that scratch covered for repair through your insurance company. So I guess this um...incident happened after the unofficial meet Friday when we went to that Ale house in Weston. That sucks. Come to think of it, I got many a so similar dents on the Accord I used to drive. Well it may take a while but I'm sure the 'Rauder will be fixed. But if you plan on scrapping it or anything, call me first. I'd be glad to purchase thoose 4:10s off you as well as thoose neat flashing led headlights that resembel cop car lights. I could have a lot of fun with thoose :D! On a more serious note, I'm sure you'll get through it. It's also good to know the misses is okay.

Sorry to hear of your (and MM's) misfortune Rob....at least the little woman wasn't hurt. If she had been able to get her hands on a "Pompanettte" I'm certain the truck driver would have been injured though.

as a matter of fact I had the "Pompanettte" in my car, not the one your thinking about but the new ones made of metal....she should have bashed in his window.

I never said I got my MM keyed. I was telling a story about a dodge magnum that i saw earlier in the day that was keyed from top to bottom and front to rear.

Yeah I get details like that wrong sometimes. Good luck with the repairs anyway. At least you got a Dakota in the mean time. Is it a V8 Dakota btw? Just curious.
