Does anyone know if the Ford Racing headers P/N M-9430-E465 will work on an '04 MM?

Thanks!

not sure the part number, but I have the FMS shorty headers for the 4.6 DOHC, it required an egr tube adapter however.

Try this part number# M9430D465. I think these are the ones that Todd put on my car. I also had to use motor mount shims to clear the steering column knuckle.

M-9430-E465 Shorty Headers for 4.6L 4 valve

I bought mine over the counter at John Bleakley Ford about one year ago

Yes. A set of these are on my car as I type this. And Smokie and Merc. And as they will tell you, you'll need an engine mount spacer to prevent rubbing the steering rod whatchacallit. Ask TAF about it. They look great, sound great, and perform great.

If you are looking for show quality under the hood, they look great. Most car show judges and visitors don't know the difference between cast iron manifolds. On the other hand ceramic coated headers have increased the conversation value of the car. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will be able to talk about the performance side of the modification.

Add me to your list. I also have the complete Cobra ceramic shortly header set-up coupled to the Magnaflow Cobra X-pipe and hi-flow CATS and then to the stock mufflers. Very nice system installed at Grand Muffler in ATL. No cabin drone, but nice sound and good power.

Are you using two cats or 4?

Found a Magnaflow x pipe w/ cats (2) for a 99 - 04 GT / Cobra. Is this the correct one?

Yes, Fastblackmerc, that is the correct Cobra X-pipe with 2 hi-flow CATS. It is a Magnaflow part. I believe the part number is #93335. As stated it needs a 4" extension to fit the longer MM body. But, must connect to the Cobra headers. See Grand Muffler in Atlanta. They have done several of them for the MMs.

Good Luck,

Glenn

I believe the Magnaflow P/N is 93335 for '95 - '03 Mustangs, P/N 93333 appears to be for '93 - ''95 Mustangs (both w/ cats).

93333 is the correct Magnaflow part number, nonetheless.

Is there a custom pipe between the header and 4" extension? If off the shelf, what is part number?

I am not aware of a off the shelf 4x.2.5 inch Stainless Steel pipes, but I am sure a good muffler shop could supply that part upon request.

Magnaflow "direct fit" cat part no 93333 (it includes an x-pipe) includes the proper flange to bolt up directly to the SVO Shorty headers that fit the Marauder. It requires addition of 4" of pipe behind the cats.

Here's what it looked like on my car (since replaced with a custom X pipe, the cats are still there attached to the headers)

The added part is the lighter looking section just after the cats

This shot shows the galvanised pipe used for the extension.

The x-pipe section after it was removed. This shows the galvanised extensions on the end that was next to the cats.

My new custom x-pipe, stainless steel all the way up to the cats now. These are the Magnaflow cats that were part of the original cat/pipe part.

My dumb. I thought there was a custom pipe between cats and headers, but it is actually an extension after the cats in this setup. I was thinking of a post elsewhere by Todd that was talking about custom 3" downpipe, which may be for a different header.?. I'll go back and re-read that post.
Thanks for the pics, they are very helpful!

Kinda bringing the thread back from a week ago but I was wondering, how thick is the engine mount spacer needed for the SVO headers? I was wondering this because I'm not really mechanical but if you're shifting the engine over then won't it affect how it connects to the TC, transmission, and to the end of the car? It can't be negative and it obviously works as several of you have had this done.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe need to add spacers to both sides?
