Does anyone here own an Xcal2 AND changed any parameters on their tune with it???? What did you change???
How much information can there be in a display that holds two lines of text????
Does the owners manual tell you how to make end user parameter changes???
Where can I get a copy of owners manual, prior to buying one ???
Thank you.;)

Yes, you can change many parameters yourself but you need to download a free program called Extreme Tune from the Super Chips Custom Tuning web site. Here's the site:

I've had my Xcal2 for about 3 months and have been playing with shift points and lock up points. Pretty cool stuff. You can also make changes to timning, fuel, speedometer, rev limits and other parameters. :)

The sofware you refer to is used on your PC or is downloaded into the X2???
How many times you have to press a buttom to get to what you want displayed on the 2 lines of text display???
Example: you want to increase line pressure for 1-2 shift at WOT. What do you SEE on screen at time to make change??? You change pounds of pressure or a percentage???.
If you prefer you can PM me. I am interested in the X2, but only if it might help me with a specific concern, not interested in playing around with tune (performance) that part is perfect in my opinion. Thanks. :)

I would want to try one for tire size and traction control on/off options.

My new XCal2 was ordered yesterday. Jason advised me that mine is coming with the end user adjustments already on there. I am happy to hear that, but the only thing I have any desire to play with is the TC lockup points just because of the speed limits where I drive at most of the time. Other than that, I have no desire to mess with Lidio's tune.

I should have been more clear. The program you download is stored in your home computer. (or laptop). You then have to have your tuner give or send you a copy of the tune he palced into your xcal2. You then load that tune into your computer. (Makes it easy if your tuner just emails you your tune file and you save it in your hard drive) You open the tune file up with Xtreme Tune (the program you downloaded from SCT) and perform all the changes you want on your tune file. Then you bring the Xcal2 box in and hook it up to your computer via a USB cable and proceed to replace the tune in your Xcal with the modified tune file you just made. There is no actual instructin manual but there are instructions on the Superchips Custom Tune web site. Good luck. Let us know how you're doing with it.

Parameter changes have to be made on a computer first, they cannot be made directly from X2 to your PCM.
I cannot do this unless the tune that came with my T-Kit is sent to me by the tuner to load in my computer first.
The X2 does not come with instructions on how to make end user changes, you have to go to their web site and hope you can find an answer to your question.
Thank you Ray, I do appreciate your responses. I have made no decision yet wether to purchase the X2 or not, I am interested in it's potential.
The way it is being sold today requires you to jump thru more hoops than I care to at this time.

Since you upload the tune file to the X2 handheld one might expect you could download one of the tune from it and save as a tune file...that way you would not have to get a copy emailed from the tuner. So it doesn't work that way?
I wouldn't mind looking at it, even being able to reset my TC lockup based on where I plan to be driving. For my commute it's alot of slower speeds and stop and go, so getting some earlier TC lockup would be advantagous to me in terms of fuel economy. On a longer trip or on open roads I don't mind and like the later TC lockup.
At anyrate I'm very happy with my tune and fine not changing it at all, if I could do so easily I may look into it mainly due to curiousity.

Go to the FAQ on the SCT web site and browse the forum. A lot of info there. I do remember reading a statement from the SCT techs that tunes made by hand (directly from the device in the car) and tunes edited by software first on the computer were incompatible or had some inability to be used together or as a basis for one or the other. Sorry to be so vague, but wanted you to know there are some specific ways to do things that will impact how you program your tune for long term use.

Everything about the X2 is vague, you have questions, find your own answers. I have an SCT 9100 that works perfectly.
The tune on my T-Kit, fuel economy and performance wise is awesome; 405 rwhp--23 mpg highway.
I am one lousy 1-2 shift away from total utopia.:D
