Hello Everyone. Found the web site and wanted to say hello. I do not own a Marauder, but I am a driver of one. I must say, this car is much more luxurious than I thought it would be. You owners are very lucky to say the least.
I have some questions, and I guarantee it is a repost of some type, but please don't bash me on my first post. When I got my training on the Marauder, they mentioned a Marauder convert. I searched and found the prototype pictures. Was this a one off car?
Also, my Marauder is silver. What is the exact name of the color? The interior is the light grey leather, which I assume also has a fancy name.
The Marauder did not come with a owner's manual. How do I set the door code?
Well, as I said, I am new to the board. I hope you all are as friendly and helpful as the ls1gto.com group. Thanks in advance!
-Chris

The official name is Silver Birch. Not too many of those around. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome aboard.
The official interior color is Light flint.
There are a couple ways to find out the door code. One is to have the dealer use the NGS machine to get the code. The other would be to remove the driver door panel and look for a 5 digit code on the module on the bottom rt area of the door.

Hey, Chris! Welcome.:welcome:
That car, according to Steve Babcock, at MMVlll, was a test mule, and was dangerous to drive, and could never be licensed for use on the road. It couldn't be safely driven beyond 35mph. They should have crushed it, but it was sold to a dealer in NJ (I believe) who's been trying to dump it, without success, as it's strictly a museum piece.
Perhaps I should buy it and park it next to the '93 Mustang we're storing.:D

Yeap, Silver Birch with Light Flint interior; the same as I have. I take it from the name, you're in Florida. Where about? Are you driving one of the FHP Marauders?
If you're in south Florida, our next meet is Friday, October 21st at the Tower Shoppes in Davie (around 6pm - 8:30ish). You're more than welcome to swing by!

Welcome to the MM site. :D :welcome:
As far as the door code there should be a sticker on the inside of the trunk lid.(5 digits I believe)
You can purchase an owners manual from Helm on line or Ray the dealer a member of this site.

Thanks for the information and quick reposnes. You all figured it out. I am driving a FHP unit and I am based out of St. Augustine...spending most of my time on I-95. I saw a black Maruader in the rest area yesterday. Once I finished my traffic stop, I pulled into the rest area to check it out. However, shortly after I arrived the young driver got into it and took off. Either he is not very sociable...or has something to hide. If anyone is on 95 up here, make sure you wave!
Also, I have the orignal door code. Is there a way to make one for myself. I remember I could do that on the Taurus SHO I had.

ALL RIGHT! It's good to hear from one of LE driving brethren there in Florida!
I'm somewhat familiar with the St. Augustine area...lived in Daytona for 4 years while I was working on my Master's at ERAU (1999-2003); flew into that airport a number of times. Purchased my particular example at Daytona Lincoln-Mercury; it was my last act in that town before I hired on at my current job and moved away. I miss the place; plan on getting back to Daytona some day....
You, sir, are most welcome here! I for one will be interested to vicariously see the service life of one of the "Reinhart specials"...
As for the door code, I would agree with Roy in his post above...or you could look for the card in the owner's manual binder. When I purchased my vehicle, it came with a black ballistic-cloth zipper binder that held the owner's manual, the instruction/warranty manuals for the stereo/tires/other misc. stuff, and there was a credit-card sized slip in there with the factory door code (I changed mine to something more personalized at the time of purchase). Now...I don't know how LE vehicle issue works; I'm guessing that the owner's manuals/binders may be all swept out of the gloveboxes and held by the maintenance facility. If that's the case, it would be worthwhile to go back and try to get your specific binder. Or if it's still in the glovebox, just go there instead.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the open arms from eveyone. I started using the car last week. It has proven itself to be an impressive unit. I have had the B4C Camaro, the Crown Vic, and now the Marauder. It is a treat to drive the unmarked Marauder, especially at night. When you pull over a driver and tell them that they were speeeding (4 points on license), making improper lane changes (3 points), following too close (3 points), failing to maintain their lane (3 points), and not using their turn signal (3 points)...and it is all on camera...they don't seem to argue with their ticket(s). I would say about 50% of drivers can pick up on the Marauder as an unmarked car. I do not have my rear radar setup to clock vehicles catching up to me yet, so I have to wait until they go by and pace clock them. I do see some go by, and see the passenger looking out the back window checking if it is a police car. Too late and they get to see the LED blues/reds.
Performance wise-I have been impressed. Now the car is not like the Camaro, that was just pure brute power. The Camaro threw you back in the seat, told you to hold on, and probably would break a few parts trying to catch someone...ahh the fun. However, this Marauder is more defined. The power is smooth, although I have noticed some hesitation in the third to fourth shift. The car has no rattles and seems rock solid, something I could not say for the Camaro.
I hope I could get further information on what modifcations were made to the cars. No one can give a positive answer and the cars are quite a mystery. However, since I am now the one who has to answer the questions at the fuel pumps to curious people, I need to know!
With the Camaros, people would always ask about the police package. Some guys would tell them put superchargers, turbos, etc. just to throw people off. I told the truth, Camaro police package...a bigger dome light and three cigarette lighter plugs.

I saw a black Marauder FHP guy pull over a Trailblazer with an overloaded trailer on I75. I was right behind them when they pulled over. I had to get around them since they stopped to a crawl. It was pretty funny though. The officers in the FHP car were staring at my ride. I guess they thought I was back up or soemthing. I waved at them anyway and they waved back. Was a pretty funny experience. I was wondering if the FHP had any silver Marauders and now I guess I know that they do. Oh yeah we, the Sunshine State Marauders, are meeting at the Tower Shops on October 21s which is two fridays from the time of this posting. Feel free to join.
