Here's the poop.

Smackdown at Norwalk is an all ford test n tune day organized by 5.0 & Superford magazines. There is no organized racing event. No points. No brackets. Just going up and running.

Smackdown used to be held on an odd day during the week. However, due to the popularity of the day, they moved it to a saturday (Oct 22). There is no friday or sunday portion...just saturday. It runs from 9 to 5.

The cold air and great traction usually produce many records and personal bests of the season. It also has a ton of media coverage.

As far as getting passes in, most folks can get more runs in than they want. Without an organized race day, you just run, run, run.

I won't be racing...but if I can get out of work for the day I'd like to join you all.

I'm typing this from my hotel room in Boston:)

Anyway, I return home on Wednesday. Depending on how the trip goes, and how screwed up things are at work due to my absence from the office, I will make a final decision on Thursday evening. Odds are I'll be there!!

If I come, I'll need to drive up, and back, on Saturday. I don't want to stay another night away from home (and the kids) so soon after just getting back.

Hopefully the weather plays nice!!

There was talk that if it does rain out, it may not happen till next year.

I was really looking forward to one last race.

Hay,Come to Milan tomorrow its a Ford nite get one last shot for the year,See Jerry run the Ford GT.Im taking the day off just for the fact it might be the last chance this year. :burnout:

I won't be making it to Norwalk Saturday. I will be working. The weather looks like rain for the whole weekend anyway.

Yowsa...the weather looks like it isn't going to cooperate. I will make the trip if the forecast turns around. But...it doesn't look good:(

Yep,Because of the match race of the year at Milan Thursday I will not be going to Norwalk.I just wanted one more trip down the 1320 to make me happy and see if my new airbox will improve my E.T. a little.

Hey guys...

Anyone still interested in Smackdown don't give up just yet. We know the forecast calls for rain, wind, and cold temps, but there just might be a chance the track will be ok.

If you want...call the track...the guy setting it up will be going to the track for an assesment before the party starts...if it starts.
