Anyone successfully removed the grease pencil like markings on items under the hood? I tried some alcohol on one item (white looking marker) and couldn't budge it. I also have a big yellow -50 for the antifreeze protection. Damn glad the guy who did that didn't decide to autograph it as well.

Try Goo-Gone, WD-40 or PB Blaster.

Have you tried these yourself? Reason I ask... I don't want to damage the plastic upon which the grease pencil was written.

Yes, I've used all of them. WD-40 works the best.

Thank you gentlemen !

I wanted to do that before the car show... but it was the day BEFORE the car show....

Didn't want to muck something up I couldn't unfix. Now I can get it done.

Of course... 20 years from now when someone is trying to restore this "one of a kind, Supercharged Marauder" they will be cussing me for taking off the factory markings!

Some day, a collector and restorer is going to be stuggling to put all those markings back, 'just like the factory did'

As detail oriented as I am ..... there were some markings on my LSC I didn't give much thought to ... till someone pointed out that it was nice how they were still there ... esp from a buyers standpoint since it was such a LOW mileage car(less than 9K) - as close to as new as you could get ..... that I was NOT about to GIVE away.

Well of course... the "factory" Supercharger will make up for their disappointment!

This reminds me.

Back in 2001, I was issued a brand new "company" car. Yup, I washed it, waxed it....blah blah blah, you get me? Well after 2 or 3 services, I get the car back and find the maintance guy documented the latest service all over the engine compartment!

I hope that wasn't the only record! Cuz it was gone upon arrival at the domicile!

If you are going to keep the car stock....leave the markings there.
Future collectors like the car untouched from the factory.
Worth more!

Gotta Love It!
P.S. Rubber bands and all.......... :P
