I've spent much time this past week reflecting on this Board and what it has meant to me over the last 3 years.

Here are some examples of how this Community, this Family, has personally touched me.....

Tonight we were treated to dinner at the yacht club by a Member that's 1,000 miles away.
2 different Members have chauffeured me to and from airports when I'm in their town...on more than one occasion.
Members have invited us to stay with them while in town or to watch an all important playoff ballgame while eating pizza at their house 3,100 miles from home.
A Member offered me their frequent flier miles to attend a meet.
Members have loaned me their cars to take them down the 1320, and for even longer.
I've offered my assistance to a number of members, whether it's helping to pay for a hotel room during our national meet, shipping care packages to Iraq or helping out after a devastating hurricane, never mind my true pleasure in helping someone figure something out on the Board.
Surprise presents from Members and vice versa.
Surprise Members!!
Sharing our lives with each other: our ups and downs; births and deaths; weddings and divorces; successes and failures; healthy times and hospitals.
A Member blocking traffic so the "FBI" 15 cars strong, can peel out from a hotel parking lot.
New custom products and innovative ideas have come to fruition for all our benefits because of the interest and pursuit of Members.
Breaking bread from one end of the country to the other.
Car washes, dynos, museums, submarines, drag strips, convoys, Meets, car shows, parades, awards, dash plaques, backyard BBQs, dodge ball in the pool, photos, DQ, burnouts, smoke detectors, 30 y.o. Scotch, haggis, chocolate chip cookies, calls from those arriving home safely......memories.
Life-long friends.......
From Florida to Alaska, Hawaii to Nova Scotia, we are a Family. Just like any family, we have our ups and downs. It's an honour to be a part of this Family, which means so much to me. If you haven't experienced any of the above, there's no time like the present. Giving and receiving is a big part of who we are as people. Don't let the keyboard stand in the way of shaking hands, giving a hug and connecting eye to eye with our Family. Sadly, our car is out of production and there will come a point where we're saturated with mods, but some friendships we fostered here will live well beyond this decade and more.

It took only a few days to raze this "barn,"

let's all work together to raise it again, stronger and better.

Well said Mary !!! It is quite remarkable that the mere purchase of a car (albeit a pretty special one) would open up a whole new world of friends and family. :D Thanks to the MM.Net and all of the members .... what a ride. :bows:

It really is more then just a car site. If I would have invested more time into this site when i first came across it long before the MM came home, I would have bought the car sooner! Probably never would have bought the Cobra!

Mary, you said it all---you know how much this site and the Marauder have changed an old man's life--just like my kids and grand kids--there will be dissentions and emergencies in every strong family--the secret is how you handle these things--I give all you folks an "A" in all subjects. As long as I can see the keys and have the strength to punch them, I'll try to keep in touch with the hundreds of friends I have made here--keep up the good work and God Bless you all, Maury (Pop Pop 'Rauder :) )

Mary - What a beautiful statement. :D :2thumbs:

You only realize how great this site is when you ask a question on another car related site and get ZERO response. That would never happen here.

Mary, you will always be the all knowing bunny lady in my eyes. So may times you have had the answers I was looking for. If you ever make it to the Seattle/Tacoma we'll have a place set at the table for you. :)

Mary,
Great post and sentiment.....

It's funny how a post such as this, from a 3 year member, talking "from the heart" brings out genuine emotion from like minded individuals. People who can see past a "car" and see...... people.

Ahhh Mary. When are you going to leave that bum and come live with me on the frozen white tundra? ;) (J/K RF).

Stuff like this is half the reason I come here. :bigcry: :bigcry:
