OK, I am going to add to this post shortly but we took the Marauder S to the drag strip in Indy yesterday... Kenny has dialed the car in like you can't believe. The Pirelli P Zeros hooked up each and everytime, with ZERO wheel spin. The car launches like a rocket and grips like you can't believe. Anyone thinking they need slicks needs to seriously consider buying a set of 18 99Y Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico's for this car, I no longer need slicks!
I am sure that we will see 1/4 times much faster than the 13.1 that Car and Driver got.

Yesterday Autoweek TV/Speed channel did a video shoot of my Kenny Brown Marauder S. We hustled it down the 1320, and drove it around the road course all at IRP in Indy. We had a great time; this car hauls like you can't believe. You haven't lived until you've slammed a four door sedan around the twisties in excess of 80 mph!
We had a special guest yesterday, a world famous, big name top fuel drag racer. He took the Marauder S down the strip a bunch of times, turning out some smoking numbers, then gave me some helpful advice on how to launch it. I can't disclose his name yet, you are gonna have to watch AutoWeek to find out, but it was the most incredible day I have ever had. I will be posting some pics as soon as I get them uploaded.
We got numbers in the low low 12s, with zero wheel spin. I will be taking the car to another drag strip soon and will post the results when I get the slip.
This thing is dialed in and ready to rock!!!!

Ahhh yes...Delicious.
Hey, welcome back to the USA, Bill! I'm sure you feel much better about being truely home right now. Thanks for the 411 on the tires, another problem solved, and just in time for Spring too.
Care to share the pro's hints on launching?

:banana2: You gotta let us know when the spot will air on the tube. I'll have to get someone to tape the speed channel for me.

Point and Shoot at what RPM? I am guessing with it dialed in, you don't need to pull the R's up to high if at all.
So did they give you the regular tree? Just curious what light did they have you start leaving or did that even matter for what you where doing?
Do tell.....

I didn't load the torque converter, I just stabbed and went. I think the pro loaded a little, then shifted manually We saw a 1/10 of a second differnece shifting manually vs. auto.
The tree was whacked so we had to resort to stop watches, so that's why I am uncomortable giving an exact time... dang lightning!

They'll do nicely, though the winter attire is disappointing... :)

I know it's been asked before, but I have to plan these things.
Any idea yet, when SpeedTV will air this special "Autoweek TV"?
Thanks !

Mensrea -
Background on the picture looks like the first turn at Road Atlanta? Did you take your car down there?
Now that you have connections with Pirelli, you may want to try to get a "Pirelli" calendar.
They are highly sought after and hard to get.
Nice picture, by the way !
