If I do need to get all my gaskets replaced what , if anything , could I upgrade in the process?

ooooo... the possiblities! :cuke:

wait....all the gaskets? Why?

I'm not sure what I'd recommend for upgrades, but just make sure you tell them to torque everything to spec.!

Not the final one. I reinstalled the PCV tube and got rid of that breather thingy. Bored the rubber sleeve on the JLT kit, connected the tube and used a high temp epoxy to seal in place. Sealed great. Now waiting to see if oil leaks still. I checked it after standing still and it read at max 3 times in a row. I did get it filled up before I left Vegas so maybe it has stopped.

if you're going into the motor for gaskets. id suggest a set of mild cams for that thing and a little head porting.it would wake that car up a lot.

any other ideas?

I wouldn't cam it unless you're going for a blower too. Current cam is pretty good, a more agressive one would just remove low end torque which is what the car is lacking anyway.

If you were serious about it, I'd rebuild the motor with forged internals, bore it out to 5.0l, heads and cams should be fine, maybe some mild porting.

There are those who have done this and the results are great...plus if you get a blower later on, you'll have a stronger engine for more boost!

You can bore this engine to 5.0? I thought I read something stating there wasn't enough block to do that or it would become weak.

You can bore it a bit, getting to 5.0 may also involve a tad of a stroke gained from the forged crank and rods.

There are different ways to go with varying displacements, I don't recall off hand, I think there is a stroker option to get 5.4l too.
