View Full Version : just installed marauder tune from power surge performance

i purchased the xcal 2 with stock marauder tune from Sal at power surge performance....i cant believe a flash tune could have such an affect on a vehicle...its like a different car. .. transmission and all....no more converter lock up at low speed makes for a nice round town drive...no more gear hunting....the shifts are much crisper especially at 3/4 to wot...nice n firm. the throttle response and off idle power is amazing... seems much more torque down low...i guess we need it there the most....and the wide open throttle power increase is unbelievable....car zips thru the gears much faster now... shift points were raised..so you dont get that bog after the 1/2 shift..he claims 30rwhp and 37 ft lbs torque and i believe i got all of it!..sal did a great job...and i just want to give him kudos...you da man sal!!!!:beer: i cant wait to see what the 4.10s do now....

Nice, I don't know alot about tunes. Did you just plug it in the

obd2 and it does all the work for you, or do you set the settings yourself?

yep just plug it in and load the tune...very simple...there are also some options you can change yourself like shift points and timing etc...but i didnt play with anything yet...havent had much dry weather up here lately.

sal is great to deal with...and works magic on the dyno! ive never been to anyone else and dont trust anyone else to tune my cars....my lightning is making near 600rwhp with the stock bottom end in it...(90,000mi) on his tune....i sent you a pm.

Well Nov 5th at 10am I shall be Strapping my MM on to the Dyno at PowerSurge Performance. Turns out, This Place has been the authority for Ford Lightnings for a long time. His Prices are Very Reasonable and I hear his Results are Remarkable.

I shall Post my results!!!

Today was my appointment for the Dyno at Power Surge Performance. We Ran a Base pull with the factory program and just my Mods. I pulled 251 RWHP and 263 RWTQ. Not too Shabby!
Sal at Power Surge put in his SCT tune and after some Tweaking on the Dyno with the timing and A/F mixture, I pulled 285 RWHP and 308 RWTQ!
A Difference of 34hp and 45ft lbs of torque all with nothing but some tuning!!
Sal is one of the nicest guys and hes been tuning since the mid 90's so the man knows his stuff
