Alrighty, I really should have known better than to go picking a fight with 3 people and a bunch of luggage in the car, but the guy in the S4 was pretty aggressive as he threaded his way through traffic.

We wound up next to each other at red light, first in line (did I mention I was dreaming yet? anyhow... this is all a dream).

I kept creeping up on the red light just to annoy Audi boy. Light turns green and he does nothing. Then he started to pull away so I pulled away next to him and then goosed the Merc to put a fender on him.

I let him pull along side again at which point he looks over and I see the nose of the S4 dip down... he had already caught second gear and just realized that at 9 mph he'd better be in first.

I matted the Marauder just as the nose picked up on the Audi and quickly pulled half a car on him while he was "lagging" behind.

But alas, twas not to be. As quickly as I was building RPMs dragging a nearly full load, his boost picked up and carried him away.

I held him off through the 1-2 shift, but beyond that he was starting to get the better of me.

His car appeared lowered and had tinted windows with some pretty stickers on some of them, so I'm thinking he might have been a bit better than stock. I've been all over those cars before (the turbo S4s, not the V8s) and didn't think the payload I had would be such a drag.

Oh well... 'nuther reason for a Trilogy!

It's okay. I got spanked by a Geo Metro months ago. It was rainy, I kept breaking traction when the light went green, he kept not breaking traction and passed me before the next light.

I wouldn't even believe that if I hadn't had a similar experience... it was over 15 years ago and I was driving my big block Marquis in the rain, both rears were spinning all over the place while a Pontiac... either a Pheonix or a 6000... made better progress.

Figure for every extra 100 pounds you have your car is almost a tenth slower in the 1/4 mile. Sounds like you had about 6-700 pounds of additional weight so if you car is stock 15.0 it was closer to 15.7. Also every 10th is about a car length.
Buy a supercharger! This way all your friends can come with you when you beat people.

Save your pennies and after you have the Trilogy installed you will only be spanked by those you want to spank you... perhaps clad in leather, riding outfit...oops, daydreaming again....:D

Supercharger supercharger.

Money's a funny thing. I couldn't find enough for a supercharger, but found more to spend on an F250.

Thing is, we're building a new house and I needed something to plow the driveway and decided I'd do better buying an all-purpose do-anything truck that would work than a whupped beater that would always need work. The house is sucking down money like a... well, like a lot of German car repair bills so I figured I should go with our needs over my wants. 'Course the truck will help keep the Marauder out of the salt and snow too....

The new place should be done in January though... about the time our 2nd child arrives... and I'm hoping that about the time the Marauder's warranty expires next spring it'll get the forced-fed attitude adjustment.

I've yet to hear a supercharger regret, aside from waiting to get one!

Or a ProCharger or a Vortech or a KB! :-)
