I have gone through all the info in search about snowtires but I still have a few questions.I have four 16" mercury steel rims off a `03 `grand monkey and as far as I have read these will fit.when I order my winter tires will they have to be in two different sizes like our stock tires? What about the traction control with smaller rims?I was quoted for four blizzak 235/60/16 for $522.00 out the door .Is this a good price?Im about a month away from install so I am doing my homework now.Search was informative but is there anything new I should know,Thank you

That's mean. There is at least two miles of good road somewhere here in Michigan.

Last saturday I had my new blizzaks mounted on 16 inch ford steel wheels. Front P215/65/16 Rear P235/65/16. WS50 blizzaks very close in diameter to the OEM 18 inch tires.

You can also use the following sizes: 215/65-16 front and 225/70-16 rear. They are the closest match to the factory diameters. I use Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires in these sizes and they work great.

Running the same size tires on all four corners will confuse your traction control.

This is the exact setup I went with and it is the closest to the factory size difference front and rear. And I went with those same tires from Tire Rack. I really wanted the Blizzak WS-50, but more importantly I wanted to stay close to the stock tire sizes overall (height wise). I have heard from here and salesman at Tire Rack that the Pirelli's will be good, just not quite as good as the Blizzak WS-50. Then again, they say the WS-50 is just as good as a studded snow tire.

I DO NOT have traction control, so this may not apply to you Hack, but others that may come across this thread later w/o traction control.

Four of the same size snows on 16" GRAND MARQUIS rims work fine.

*As a note: The fellow that bought mine had traction control, and yes, the light would come on once he got over 35 mph. BUT, these tires* were so aggressive, he merely turned OFF the traction control and never used it.

*Front WS50 and rear Kelly wintermarks with full studs.
