I have had this problem for quite a few months, but it doesn't affect the car at all. If I drive normally it's ok, but past half throttle especially down the track you will hear a very loud squeek. I'm guessing it's the belt sense it has gone through 3 others for whatever reason, but I never had it act like this. Is it the belt or something else I should look at?

Check your tensioner and the alignment of the pulleys.. maybe a loose alternator or power steering pump bracket.... Shouldn't be eating belts.. They last 100000 on my Crown Vix...Cyclopsram

What type of belt do you have, how old (years/miles)?

The 2003 E-250 would squeel the belt during each shift if it was cold and humid but only with the OE Motorcraft belt. Once I switched to something else (NAPA, Goodyear) it would be fine.

It's not uncommon for you to hear a squeel during a WOT 1-2 upshift.
