Just like the title says guys. I'm almost 23 and wouldn't mind picking up a low mileage Marauder and throwing a supercharger on it when I graduate and get a job. One thing I need to know is what kind of insurance I should expect to pay per month. I know a ton a factors play into insurance prices (credit, prior tickets, married or single, homeowner or renter, multi car policy, location in US, etc, etc, etc) but I'd still be interested on what some of you twenty somethings pay for insurance a month. I'm also interested in an 05 GTO, 03/04 Cobra, or a new Charger SRT-8. I'd be interested in knowing how a Marauder stacks up compared to these other cars in terms of insurance rates. Oh, and by insurance I mean full coverage with a typical deductible. Thanks ahead of time, guys.

cgm, if you can find an '03, the VIN will come up as a Grand Marquis in most databases (except here, of course), so the base insurance is most likely going to be lower. The '04s have a different VIN which shows up as a Marauder. In either case, the insurance is bound to be a fair amount lower than any of the other 3 cars you mentioned. Sorry I can't give you a figure; I'm over 25...WAY over...but the percentages should be similar.

I pay right around 1200 a year for an 03, don't remember the exact figure.

I'm over 25, but get this:

I had a '00 Accord 4D 4C. Sold it and bought '03 Marauder (GM 300A VIN) and my insurance went DOWN for the same coverage.

Try THAT with a GTO or 'stang!

I'm 27 and the Marauder is listed as my primary vehicle on my policy. I also have a clean record. Through Progressive, I pay $532 every 6 months with a $250 collision deductable. With State Farm, I was up near $750 every 6 months with a $500 deductable.

This was not true for me. Mine was listed by Progressive as a GM Marauder but I also paid more than the GM rate because the VIN IDed the car as being worth more.

You *don't* want your rate to be less by listing it as a GM IMO, because then if you ever have the car stolen or totaled you get less on the replacement.

I know I'm not young anymore, but I pay a little under $800/year for two cars and two drivers on each car. I also have a bit of extra coverage for my mods.

Hey, I am still young too !!! I pay $398.54 per 6 months with USAA (or $797.08 per year). Full medical, liability, collision, rental coverage, and a $250 deductible. Guess I might need to rethink the deductible upwards 'cause that's what I carried some 35 years ago when $250 was worth close to 10% of the entire vehicle. :o Now that won't cover 2 tires or one wheel.

I pay about $ 500.00 per year for my 2004 Marauder, and about $ 400.00 per year for our 1994 Taurus SHO. But i'm 57 years old, and I haven't had a speeding ticket in 25 years. MY last insurance claim was in 1984-85 my 5.0L Mustang conv. The claim was about $ 450 and they raised my insurance $ 150 per year for the next five years! I would've been better off paying the claim myself.

Just curious - does that include the AAA membership fee or not?

30 years old, full coverage, I think $532 per 6 months. I go through State Farm. I think I got a deal (maybe?) because my parents have been with this agent of State Farm since before I was born. The $1000 deductible is scary as hell though!

Before I turned 25 (this past May), I was paying about $2200/year through Progressive. This was after a sizable discount for paying the full premium at once. Since I've turned 25, I'm now paying $1618 per year. This is good for $100k/100k/100k + UIM coverage, and based on a clean driving record with no accidents or tickets.

Before I found Progressive, I had tried State Farm, Geico and Allstate, all of which were upwards for $3-4k per year.

Thanks for the info guys! Oh, and some of you would be shocked at how cheap insurance on a new GTO is. It's not an F-body situation since there aren't many high schoolers driving around brand new $35k GTOs. This is why Corvette insurance rates are much lower usually than Mustangs and Camaros.

Understand the undeclared installation of a supercharger could throw a real monkey-wrench in any claims  ! Some insurance companies might well deny a claim and even refuse to refund premiums paid :( . It's one thing to pass it off as a Gran Marquis but if you double your horsepower and have a problem with an adjuster :nono: ....some ins. companies will look for any excuse to deny a claim :alone: . I don't recall reading a discussion in this forum of such a possibility or event  .
