Does your Marauder work for a living?
Mine does and I'd be interested to hear from other road warriors.
I travel throughout the Southeast every week and since my Mid-November purchase have racked up 14,000 miles.
Any mileage related service problems? Tire life? Loose nuts and bolts? We road warriors could be an early warning of any problems for others to expect.
In my own case---------smooth sailing. This car is still stock and has been great!
Tires wearing well -- changed the oil three times--averaging 23mpg on the highway (75-80mph).
Mileage note: when hauling Harley to Daytona Bikeweek mileage dropped to 10mpg:(

I've got 14,000 on my MM. I just had to have the front end aligned. Both tires were wearing on the inside. I'm a happy camper with mine :D

So, what exactly happens at 14,000? Do you get a choice of hair color? :D

Mine goes in for 15000 mile service Friday. No problems to report to date. Bought the car 11/4/02. The 4/10's went in at 3600 miles, so they been there awhile, again, no problems. Car runs like a scalded rabbit when punched. Gotta love the chip and gears. Gotta love the effect at night when your running 70 and being overtaken by others. As soon as they see the black car, recognize the tail lights, man it's really funny what they'll do not to pass you!

I have an early build MM I think late May. I have about 10,000. I've had the front end aligned, steering wheel replaced, and a squeaky driver's seat problem. One strange thing I've noticed the rear tires are showing alot of wear in the middle. The tires have never been smoked so I don't know what's going on. The fronts look like new. Pzeros here I come.

I just hit 2300. I won't get to 14,000 until some time in 2005.

I'm with you Poke. I've only put 4,400 miles on mine since August and it's my daily driver. :D (Note: A major chunk of that was a 1,400-mile road trip in October.)
I love my one-mile commute ... takes about 5 minutes with the lights. :)

mdmarauder: check your tire inflation. It sounds like your tires are over-inflated.

White Knuckles: That's good news for all us. Looks good down the road..... I have been on the road since 9-28 and have 3,000. Short ride to work....Stop and go worse than hi-miles.....

sounds like normal wear from no rotation.

15079 in parking lot at work this morning. No troubles except that annoying habit of mine of getting the speedo needle on the floorboard side of 100. It's gonna cost me some money one of these days.

Just curious: do you wish that the MM had even-sized tires to rotate?

I have around 11500 now. Bought in september, drive 20 miles each way to work. No real problems, just minor stuff like trim issues. No mods yet, anxiously waiting for my chip and stuff..

Thanks for the suggestion but I always check the air with my nifty digital gauge. I wish somebody made a tire in that rear size besides BFG. I'm not a fan of these tires.

I guess I am in the real low mileage club, had her since November and only got 743 mi on her. She is a pleasure driver and just been busy with work and such.

Yeah, I'm a member...
OH..."High Mileage Club"
OK, 11,300 miles on the Marauder since last June 22nd.
Just minor trim concerns handled under Warranty...

Martyo is correct. An overinflation issue will wear the centers out. An underinflate will wear the sidewalls evenly, leaving tread in the middle.
If you are a daily driver, and showing excessive wear on the stock tires...Watch how fast you wear the pzero's out, overinflate those, and there is no recourse, you just ate $400 worth of italian rubber.
5400 miles, no unusual tire wear at 32psi/all4. Top brake fluid twice though.
LOTS of road rash....:(
Only 3,800 miles since July. Live in north east and just starting driving it again last week. Seemed like the longest winter ever.
No problems to this point. Roy,I do wish the car had all the same size tires. I posted a thread asking about ABS problems with same size tires. My MM dosen't have trac cont so I think it,s going to work. Waiting on more info on that. I think the car will look even better with bigger meats on the front.:D

Just turned 8000 miles here (since middle of Sept)...no issues...mdmarauder: what are you running for tire pressures? Like CRUZ, I'm running 32 all around and have seen no unusual wear...
No, I tell a lie: the only issue I've had its that the horn beeps by itself every once in a while, randomly, for no apparent reason, even when no one is in the car. The horn button (pad?...place where you push to blow the horn?) doesn't seem to have any movement, like it's attached solidly...just pushing it a tiny bit causes the horn to sound, so maybe that's the problem...when I bring it in for its 10,000 mile check-up I'll have them look at it...

No, OD was on. The trailer I was pulling was 6X10 open trailer with a wire mesh tailgate that acts like a parachute. Let off the gas and it was like a huge airbrake.

15079 is the highest posted mileage so far. Anybody got that beat?
Maybe Slowpoke can come up with a prize package. He'll have to check Craftypoke Industries' warehouse-------his trunk organizer.
Also, probably where most of Slowpoke's mileage is coming from---calling down to the garage attendant to pull up his car so he can check the warehouse:D

Well Boys (and girls),
Looks like I have everyone beat - I've had my MM since 7/02 and I will hit 17K miles this week. My MM works for a living and other than a driver's seat squeak, and a vibrating package tray, I am happy to report no issues. I just had an alignment done last week - had winter tires & wheels on (for quite a while here in New England), so my original tires are still in great shape - did rotate side to side. I am changing oil every 3K and using Zymol every 6K just to be safe. This car was built very well - I average 70-80 mph on the hwy and have not had one problem.
Jeff.

I have 8,000 miles on my MM, been driving for about 4 months.
Love driving the car, still 100% stock.
Problems:
1) Right wiper blade still does not park.
2) Drivers seat makes noises.
3) Sub-woofer rattle is now finally fixed took three visits and I finally fixed myself.
4) Door armrest still too low.
5) Have not seen a fix or alternative from Ford for their fake oil gage yet.
6) Drivers seat will not adjust low enough.
7) Paint defects on rear fender and top.
8) Saw 300B at dealer and FMC has updated their wiper blades to heavy duty. 300A owners are stuck buying new ones.
9) F/M dealer is NOT modification friendly. (If you what to play you will pay with your warranty!).
Could be happier!

6/21/02 thru 4/10/03 racked up 15K.
Went in to have Signature Service performed at
http://www.michaeljordanrpm.com with a list price
$289. After 2 hours they came to me about the
front tires. They are just about showing belt
on the outside of both fronts. They were rotated
at 10K (maybe next time I should have them taken
off and switched instead of swapping). They claim
this was an alignment problem. Then they went
onto say that they don't have the correct "blocks"
to do the alignment. (SIGH!) Now it pulls to the right.
Also had to order "special" air filter, has thicker combs
than the Grand Marq, which hasn't come in yet.
Total after all is $558!!! I think I'm
They spilled oil all over the block, so my baby is
smoking and wreaking when I stop or shutdown.
There's some grimmy crap all over the finish too.
I'll have to wait for daylight to figure out what it is.
NOT Pleased at ALL!

Well---I just returned from my 15000 mile service. Everything was fine except for tire wear. Cupping occuring on inside of front tires and blamed as an alignment problem. I have had tires evaluated every 3000 miles and was not happy with dealers nonchalant diagnosis and solution being front-end alignment and two new tires. These 15000 miles have been 95 % interstate miles and the regular service has been performed by the dealer I purchased from. I expressed my displeasure to salesman who sold me the car and he said he would speak to service mgr. to try to do replacement under warranty.
We will see.
WolfeBros

Cupping can caused by either balance or shocks or both.

WK:
Thanks for the heads up. I have to take mine in for the 15k service in the next few weeks. I was already planning on tire rotation.
I've been told that "swapping" the tires R to L (since rotation is not an option) is futile as to preventing wear. Thoughts?
Also, be very careful on the alignment WK, rim damage CAN (and has, in my case) taken place.
