Like some of you, my '03 belt tensioner shakes at idle some. Someone here wisely recommended checking the tensioner bushings once in a while. Mine we still good 'n tite. (pulleys run true, probably should replace belt anyway)

At 28k miles my tensioner shook and let out a silver metallic type paste all over the engine.
$30 later, No more paste and very little shake

Mine was cracked and about broke thru when I did in the engine back in April--the tensioner had nothing to do with the engine going , I don't think, cause we found many more problems than just that--but at 22K --it was toast---but then again --I got a S/C'er --......in anyevent........I'd change it out --period...my 2Cents

My tensionser started squeaking past 30k miles.
It was replaced under warranty, along with the serpentine belt,
due to a TSB on a noisey tensionser.

So if you PAID for one under 36k miles, take your receipt back
and get a reimbursement...
