First, let me thank everyone for all of their concern and suggestions. Especially Ray, Lidio, Wes and Dennis for their personal time on the phone. All of my old MM buddies are the best!
Got a call from the dealership about noon today. They put in a new torque converter and the thing runs like new! They said that they kept running it and checking everything on the computer, including the TC. The TC showed fine on the diagnostic equipment. A wrench at the factory told them to change the TC. They said, "We can't just put in a new TC when the computer says that it's fine." The factory guy said, "Don't argue, put in a new TC." They did, and presto, it's as good as new.
I had been telling them that it's something transmission related since the engine ran fine. A lot of the advice I was getting said the same thing.
As a matter of fact, this thing runs better now than it was before. I can lay down a very pretty patch of rubber now. My car had lost its ability to do that from a dead punch. It ran smoothly and well, but it didn't have the old ooommph that it once had from a start.
Thanks to all. I won't be responding to anything for a couple of days, I'm going to be out driving my beautiful baby!

I love a story that ends well. Good on you. Travel safety and often. Leave those pretty rubber patches everywhere. Dennis:beer:
