Looking for replacement tailight sockets. Have searched the internet and haven't found any. Haven't tried the junk yard yet. Want to add 2 additional light per side.

You only have to do this once.
Hey, did you just experience Deja Vu? It's like I've been here before.

Any junkyard with 98 and newer Crown Vic or Grand Marquis or Town Car should be a good donor..... snip snip.... and off you go... RAM

Forgive me, but I have not looked at the tail light sockets in say uh..3 years? When I had my 99 vic. Are they just 1156/1157 sockets? I would guess Autozone may have them. How about wiring up a load equalizer and going for LEDs? :D

The sockets are the newer type that accepts the wedge or blade type bulbs. I tried the LED replacement bulbs but without the equalizer they blow the fuse. Even if I got an equalizer and ran LEDs I still want to add 2 more bulbs per side.

That's right, they are the wedge style. My 99 Crown Vic had four bulbs on each side, when I upgraded to 02+ tail lights to get rid of the amber bar on the tailight I had to drill two holes for two of the bulbs. It was a piece of cake, and I installed the running lamp portion slanted, while the rest of the assembly would light up with two more bulbs once the brake was applied. Here is what it looked like with just the headlights on and no brakes applied:

Back then I thought it looked pretty evil in a small way. Get yourself a 99 loom and you'll be fine with four bulbs. I think 98 will work too, but somewhere 00+ they switched to a two-bulb design.

I just need the sockets with some of the wiring attached, don't need the entire loom. The MM has combo tail & stop lights.
