Yep - exactly 3 years ago today I took delivery of my new '03 Marauder.
The most fun 3 years I have ever had, for sure!
In honor of three years of ownership I am giving away 6 Marauder Pens.
All you have to do is guess my mileage as of my fill up [this afternoon]. The person who comes the closest [over or under] is the winner! Winner announced 5:00 pm tomorrow [central time] unless someone guesses the exact mileage, in which case the contest will end as soon as I see the post.
To qualify, please post your guess on this thread and be considerate by guessing at least 25 miles away from other peoples' guesses.
good luck to all!

Just for gits & shiggles ..... I'll tell you how I came up with that number.
I searched & found this thread dated 6-8-05 :
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=18845
You had 11,800 miles on it.
6-8-05 was right @ 4 months ago.
So .......
11,800(miles) / 32(months) = 368.75 miles per month average.
368.75 (miles) x 4 (months) later = 1475 miles.
11,800 + 1475 = 13,275 miles.
Course' shortly after I posted that, I realized that I failed to take into account whether or not you had driven your car to MV-III or not ..... but it didn't seem right for me to go back & "edit" my original guess.
If in fact you did drive your car to MV-III ..... the trek from Chicago just in itself, should have racked up another 600 miles minimum ..... not including any driving you might have done during MV-III.
With that said ... I would have added another 1000 miles minimum to be safe.
My initial 13,275 figure + an extra 1000 = 14,275 miles.
I'm glad the "stakes" were pretty light here ... or I might really be kickin myself in the ass right about now.

I also took a trip to Rockford a few months ago and a trip to Appleton, WI three weeks ago. Had you figured these in, perhaps you would have nailed it!
Trip to MV3 = 727 total miles
Rockford = 420 miles [did lots of extra driving while there]
Add a couple extra trips to IKEA @ 48 or so miles
1 Chicken Run about 40 miles
lpus some extra summertime fun driving
= 14,591 miles
and it's a prime number!
DOH !!!.
Just for gits & shiggles ..... I'll tell you how I came up with that number.

Well, its my turn--today marks my 3 year run of events with my MM---Its been and still is an event every time we hit the road----but being it's S/C'ed, I must tell ya--if I don't hit 100 at least once when out and about--it's not considered an outing---........then of course the Friends met and made ....well ...thanks of course goes to Logan for creating this board for that...........
.and finally...I have to Thanks to my first MM friend who got me started on all this up to the S/C'ing----TAF--- We use to do one upgrade and be up'ed by the other doing an upgrade , then one of us would upgrade again-an unwritten rule of fun and attainment............
Thanks to all I have met and the fun we have had the past three years.......
.and it continues this Saturday===at SSHS5 in Commerce,GA....where alot of us will meet for some more MM rubber burning fun.....carry on yall ...looking forward to many more fun years....Tom
