Took the MM in 3 times already because the fuse keeps blowing and the autostart stops working,,dealer said its because i leave to many things on when i turn the car off..what a load of crap,,isnt that the point on auto start, to start the car with the heat on? dealer also said this is a common problem with grand marquis, to many accesories. and the car cant handle it..
i think there must be a wire shorting out, or the unit is no good..should i insist on a whole new alarm system, or what?
All opinions welcome.
Thanks in advanced.

I installed a Design-Tech remote start / alarm system and have had no power issues. I leave the heat or A/C, radio, music keg and V1 radar detector on.

I leave my radio and a/c or heater on most of the time (on automatic) with around the temp of 67-69 deg. The only problem I've had is a "quirk" the door lock preventing the remote start from working. If I use the keypad to open the door, I have to relock it with the keypad or use the key remove option while the car is running to get the remote start to work again (same with the interior unlock buttons), but I've got it figured out and haven't had any real problems. My car ('04)had the remote start installed since about 200 miles and over 1.5 years ago.

:mad2: What a load of crap! How can anyone with common sense say you are leaving too many things on?? They need to find what "one" thing is causing the fuse to blow. It would be nice if someone did their job and stopped putting the blame on you!

I would bet it is one of the modules that is shorting out. Could be anything from the trunk, door lock, auto start, panic etc. One faulty module may affect all of the others.
