I need some help.
I ordered the chrome shifter button from Ray Sr today
( Part # YF1Z-7C488-BA) I thought that the chrome shifter shaft was included in the package, but its not. Can anyone tell me where I can get the part # for the chrome shaft??
Thanks

Taking the pics in the garage at night didn't do it much justice ..... it would look much better IMHO taken during daylight outside w/o the flash.
Pardon the lint on the bezel.

Eric,
Is this number for the chrome collar? I spoke with Ford and they gave me a different number 3W7Z-7E026-AA

Unless Ford changed it in the past few months ... the # I provided should be correct.
IIRC ... the "W" letter designation in the second character of the part # indicates the year 2000. With that said, the part # starting with the characters "1W" ... would mean a part first put into use/production for the yr 2001. The part # begining with the characters "3W" ... would mean a part first put into use/production for the yr 2003.
I believe the CV Sport did come out @ 2001, so it would make sense that the chrome collar(aka technical name shroud) should have a 2001 part # ..... unless the part itself was found to need a revision of some sort(ex - defective) ... or it was simply changed in the Ford parts system for another reason.
Do you tell whoever you spoke with what kind of car you had/plan to put this on ?.
The part # they gave you ... might be for what we already have in our MM's(the black collar).
Get in touch with Ray aka "TheDealer" & he can get you squared away.
This is the package it came in with the part # I provided :

Get in touch with Ray aka "TheDealer" for current pricing but it's reasonable.
You will need to order (3) seperate things to do it as I have.
1 - The chrome surround bezel - 3W7Z-7D443-AB
2 - The chrome collar(shroud) - 1W3Z-7E026-BA
3 - The chome button - YF1Z-7C488-BA
Install info -
This was sent to me awhile back by another member via PM :
******
Some supplemental information for swapping-in the chrome components:
- Position the shifter lever in 1st; this will give you some working room.
- Remove the gauge pod ( grasp both sides of the back edges and lift-up smartly ).
*Note: place a rag between the bottom of the gauge pod and the top of the console panel to eliminate marring.
- Open the console cover; part of the console panel is underneath on the front edge.
- Remove the console panel ( grasp both sides and lift-up smartly ).
- Remove the shifter handle; slide the collar down by grasping it and pushing down. This will reveal two allen-head set-screws; remove them and lift the handle slowly with your thumb just touching the selector button ( there's a spring behind it that will jetison if you don't ). Disconnect the OD selector wire ( it's tucked-up in the handle ).
- You can now remove the collar and the bezel ( there's a light in this assembly and it's just a matter of twisting and removing ).
Installation is the reverse of the above.

I followed the above advice & found it to be right on the money. Be sure to NOT skip over that part about the use of a rag. You'll see the dire need to use it, once you start trying to yank out the pod.
As been said here before by MANY :
The gauge pod is in fact a bit finnicky to get out. If you have any intentions of upgrading your gauges ... try & do this all in ONE shot. Being how you need to firmly yank it out just right & the fact that everything is modern day throw away PLASTIC .... I don't foresee this being done too many times before something breaks.
I wish that I had bought new gauges before I did this ...
As I'm really not looking forward to yanking that pod back out anytime soon.
It's a bit nerve racking(worrying you're gonna $%^& something up) even tho it DOES come out ok eventually.
The only other thing I found a lil' annoying was the small thin wire/connector for the OD button. Took me awhile to get it tucked back up in the handle just right. If you don't ... you'll have one hell of a time getting the collar to slide back up. In fact, part of the insulation got nicked & I had to wrap a small piece of electrical tape around it.
Your mileage may vary .......

Hi Eric,
Let me start out by saying thanks for all your help!!
Ford ordered the shroud for me with the number (3W7Z-7E026-AA) it was the chrome shroud and it fit perfect. I can't tell you what a difference the chrome button and shroud makes to the console.
I'm so glad I did this mod.
