Well, I have talked with a trusted mechanic and going to start taking my car to him for some work when needed - oil changes, suspension piece installs, etc - because he has a lift (I don't), big shop, and air tools (I don't).

So, I plan on buying some Mobil 1 oil and Motorcraft filters in bulk to take for oil changes. Just wondering if anyone have any good suggestions for sources of those items. Dealership the best/only place for the filter? What about Mobil 1 - any good deals out there lately people have seen - Wal-Mart, etc?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I've seen those "big jugs" of oil in wal-mart but they were out of Mobil 1 synthetic.

I wonder if you (we) can get a drum of oil? It would be expencive, but in the long run, you would save.

Dealership the best/only place for the filter? No, not at all...Wally World and AutoZone both sell the FL-820S, as I'm sure many other parts houses do.
What about Mobil 1Wally World sells M1 in the handy-dandy 5 qt jugs for the best price I've seen. (BTW, that's about the ONLY thing I buy from them... )

This applies to the New England area...YMMV...

those synthetic big jugs!

Here in Detroit we go to Cheetas on the river in Windsor, but sometimes Deja Vus works well too!
