Congrats, Marty.

It seems like the top time spot has just changed from one power adder maker to the other. Is this proof that the Vortech is superior to the Eaton? I am not trying to start a fight. I am just curious as to what this new time really means.

Is Marty's car/time a valid basis for comparison with our cars? I know that he has done a LOT to his car. With that in mind how much does his time relate to what we can look forward to with our cars unless we are willing to go as far?

Again, I'd just like to learn. I think it would be cool to know what it would take to bring my MM to that speed.

Best,

Dan

Myself and the other moderators will be watching closely. If any of this supercharger crap is even so much as hinted to again, someone else is on vacation. This thread is to congratulate Marty on his new personal and timeslip top of the heap run! Good job Marty.

Dan, by the way, to answer your question...this new time means Martys car is Very Very Very fast! And John is correct, Marty is running a Procharger.

When I got there, he had run 11.10, and I witnessed the 11.08 run. Later, he red lighted but didn't know it, the other car actually pulled ahead of him slightly, then Marty pulled out ahead of him. The other car got a 10.80. But,no time slip because of the red light. Legal Knevil WILL break into the 10's.

Barry,

When you select yellow for your text color, those of us (me) using monochrome scheme see yellow against white, which is difficult to read.

Not to mention, here in the black/gold scheme, when you reply and it quotes back, the yellow text appears against a white back ground.

Just FYI. My optomistrist wants a new bass boat, and you're helping him get it :)

Congrats, Marty.

It seems like the top time spot has just changed from one power adder maker to the other. Is this proof that the Vortech is superior to the Eaton? Dan, you just need to make your choice and get your car S/Ced old boy. You've been talking about it for almost two years now!! As far as Marty's car vs. anyone else's, Marty's car must be a monster, and it should be running considerably faster in light of the fact that his RWHP is about 100 more than anyone else's on here, and his car is running boost pressures in the 20+ PSI range!!

So I see no reason why his car shouldn't be in the 10's(unless traction is an issue), and apparently it did get in the 10's during the run that involved a red light. It's too bad that there wasn't a timeslip for that run. My understanding is that they don't give you a timeslip when you redlight during competitions where there's a pro-tree.

Sorry I could not post sooner, but I had no internet access. Plus, I had to come back early because I had a death in my extended family and that takes priority over racing/celebrating.

Now, all I can say is WOW!

First, my car ran the 11.08, I DIDN'T. I put my very good friend and Chief Wrench Shankin (here) in the hot seat. He made those dynamite passes. Jeff has a lot more seat time and when he came back shaking after a super hot pass, I decided to spectate and enjoy from the pits. Jeff recently opened up a shop in the Atlanta area and treats my car like it is his own. His shop is Pro Speed Performance and can be reached at 770-222-5015. Plus a custom exhaust from Grand Muffler (Todd's shop) who can be reached at (770) 426-0763. Be sure to ask them both who their attorney is! :D

I am a lucky man. I was surrounded by friends: TAF, Shankin (my team captains) and dozens of members here. We all left the Cheby boys with something to think about.

The car is a hard runner, that is for sure. And I am on Cloud 9 right now. I will make the run official tomorrow when I post up my time slip for all to see.

Now to the drag racing banter. The car ran a 10 second pass, we all saw it. BUT, I agree that I need a slip to prove it and I don't have that because of a red light. But, hey, that's racing. We will have a 10.xx slip for sure.

Before I forget, much thanks to Steve Petty for tuning my car. He is well known for his skills and they proved their worth here.

Too all my friends here: THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!! It has been a great ride. I am glad that you all came along.

Oh, and on a final note, yep, it was a PROCHARGER! But, If Jerry wants to donate a Trilogy kit to my team we will bring that into the tens. If you are up for it Jerry, you can send it with the Mountain Dew. By the way Jerry, I sure wish you had made it!

Man-oh-man...A Marauder this quick. Dayum!

I apologize for my delay in responding here. Hell of a day to upgrade a web site, eh? Just read the whole thread, and I am breathless...Hold on a sec while I drag my oxygen tank out of the closet...Okay, I'm back.

Martin...Are you listening?

You are one of my first friends here, and the memories are..."nickle plated".

I know how hard you have worked to achieve this goal, I'm working a goal of my own. Sometimes, it's seems like it's a never-ending game of dimes chasing quarters, like your pockets are some kind of ski slope for the Olympics. As technology runs through your head and you learn new things, you can't stop the coins from leaking out, lint free. Every time a "specialist" says "what you need to do here, is..." an NCR cash register rings up and another sale echoes in your head "cha-ching". While your brain comes to wonder if this "cha-ching" will ever stop, your brain continues to seek out the technology, as your heart seeks out unblemised glory. We don't like "luck". An "old-daze" racer I visit with often, once said..."Nothing changes but the zeros before the decimal point", and (shrug) we both know he's right.

I have always hoped you would get your break, see your day in the Sun, and soon. You are close now, congrats, and allow me to add my wishes for many more sunny days ahead, and...TENS!

Be safe getting into them.

BTW...You and I know that others can push the pedals better than we can. But really, now that we know our Marauders can do what we want them to do, all we can do is get better. Get back behind the wheel, Martin, I have. And I'll take my lumps as I learn my skill. This is the frosting, on the cake we paid for, yes?

Hope to line up with you someday, my friend. It will be an honor to get smacked down by the one...Legal Knevil, with you at the wheel.

PS...Nice job, Todd.

Whatever good the Proguard thing does, I agree it can't hurt.

But, you are SOOO far in right field with tail tucking thing, it's boggling.

The fastest land ainimal is the Cheetah. Towit:

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/1/1/3/6/High20Velocity20CheetahSmall.j pg

The second fastest is the Pronghorn Antelope, which has a short tail, so I skip to #3, the Wildebeest:

http://www.voyagerszambia.com/images/wildebeest.jpg

So, will skip down a few and look at dogs. Towit, the greyhound...
http://dogswithjobs.com/dog_images/misc_dogs/grey.jpg
which is, btw, not the fastest dog, runing 5 MPH slower than this guy:

http://www.arkive.org/media/B68FE8BA-0650-45B7-8C0C-1326D094DE0E/Presentation.Thumb/picture.jpg the Cape Hunting Dog, top speed 45 MPH

So, the Labradors you watched may have run faster with tucked tails, but that's pretty odd, and certainly not something common to fast land animals.

Thread hijack now terminated...

So what's the deal guys? Was Marty's car running nitrous too for the 10 second and 11 second runs or just the blower? And if it was done only on 14 PSI, and w/out the nitrous, then what RWHP is the car at now? I can't keep up with you guys (in more ways than one :banana2: ).... BTW, Marty, now you need some seat time behind the wheel of that monster!!!

Congrats Marty:banana2: A super run with a super car. It was pleasure to finally meet you and your guys. Glad to have been parked next to you at the track after that great run.

IN addition, it was an honor to race my car side-by-side with your record setting Marauder. It was a blast:D

MartyO,

The Diet Mountain Dew will be sent out, to NEW YORK, this week. You don't have to drive the car to have the fastest Marauder on the Planet title. The title is yours. And yes, Mike Z. did drive my car on to the 11.21 ET. For that I am grateful. Mike did a great job!!

I am really sorry I could not make the race. I was really planning on attending, but I have many, many irons in the fire these days and could not make it happen. I am sure we will meet sometime soon and I am looking forward to having a Diet Mountain Dew with you!!!

Those Speed Shop Guys in Atlanta sound like a great team. My hat is off to them for preparing such an awsome Marauder. I hope I get a chance to compare notes with those guys someday.

I want to thank my good friend Chuck for giving the Mountain Dew. Good friends are always there to back you up. And the Florida guys are Great Friends! But, this debt is mine and I will pay my debt!!! You won and I was a NO SHOW!!!

That said, once again, CONGRATULATIONS MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!

MARTYO - FASTEST MARAUDER ON THE PLANET!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Marty.............. You don't think this is over do you?? Your ET was awsome, red light or not!! I personally don't care if you left on the first yellow. When you break the beams, reaction time doesn't mean a dittle. That is an incredible ET!!

I am a very mild Type A personality, so having obtained a World Record, that I never thought I would have, and then losing to a fellow sportsman. We are going to start to rachet up the the ante, I drink Diet Coke.

Start saving, I am getting very thirsty!!!

Your good friend, Mr. Roots type.

Jerry:

Thanks for the post. It means a lot to me.

This was a pretty full weekend for me. Lots of friends, lots of car stuff, and now great memories. Seriously though, I was disappointed that you and some of your crew weren't there. The weekend was a "10" for me and if you guys had been there it would have been a 10++++++

We will have another chance to meet up. And, we will be drinking -- whether it is Diet Coke or Diet Mountain Dew, we will all be laughing and smiling, I am sure of that.

Now Jerry one last favor I need from you. I respect your buddy and mine Lidio, just let him know that he will have to make room for my friends at Pro Speed to share some of the press space that Lidio gets (and deserves). I suspect that they will be putting some pressure on Lidio in the very near future! :D

Marty,

Sounds like your guys in Atlanta did an outstanding job. They must be first class to get the car to run like it did. Me and Lidio are buddies and I am sure that he can handle the competition. I keep having to make appointments with him weeks in advance to work on our vehicles. He's like Elvis! But, Lid and I want another shot at the title. So we will have to work hard to catch you.

Donna is working the the Diet Mountain Dew shipment as we speak!

CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN MY FRIEND!!!!!

Best Wishes,

your good friend,

Jerry

But, you are SOOO far in right field with tail tucking thing, it's boggling.
Could they have been chicken? :poke: ROTFLMAO! You two are...Nevermind. It's a trait of the breed, like dog body language indicating playtime.

Were you on the bottle on that run? If so, what was the shot?

Keep up the great times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
