Anyone run other than the 235/50 BFG's on the front?

Pro's and con's?

I ran Michelin Pilots for a little while. Too small/skinny, swapped for the 255/45 Nittos.

There are a few members running 245/45-18 tires up front.

I'm running Nitto 235/40's up front and 255/45's out back and they are much smoother and better cornering than the BFG's ...I guess since the car sits about 1" lower.

I'm not wild about the 235/40's up front.....sidewall a bit short!! I may get some 245/45's for the front next time but I will stay with the 255/45's in back unless I find another brand that makes the OEM size.....NO MORE BFG'S FOR ME!!

Im new, looking for Thread on Front tire wear issues, bought my 04 MM new, and at 15k the inside edge of the front tires are completely gone, dealer still has the car, I say they shipped with the wrong alignment they say it is my responsibility to check tires and insure proper alignment. They they put it on the rack and it is within specs!!??

Any insight would help, is this an issue with just a few cars or all?

I'm running Nitto 245/45/18s on the front. The sidewall is a little low, but I love the way they handle, and braking performance is great.

As for the alignment, the factory specs for the car are horrible. Search for Carfixer's specs. Ever since I used those specs, I have had no/little NORMAL tire wear on the front.

See my sig. I love my 235/50/18 Bridgestone S03 Pole Position. Great wear, handling, and grip. They are known to be the best AutoX tires available, when used as a daily driver (so I was told).

I love 'em.

Thanks,

Peter

I have the Prielli P-Zero Directionale in 245/45/18 on the front, and the P-Zero Assymetrico in 255/45/18 on the rear for street/highway use. I also have a set of Assymetricos in 285/45 for the rear on 9.5" wheels for the track. I've been very pleased with their performance. Next year's race tire will most likely be the Mikey Thompson drag radial, 275/45/17

I run the Pirelli P Zero Asymmetrico 255/50 all around. Suggested by Mac, and I'm now on my second set. Not cheap, but I like them a lot.
