Picked up my S/C car from Dennis Reinhart Friday afternoon, drove it home and to the track for SSHS Saturday morning. Have about 650 miles on it (the engine) so it must be broken in...right? This was my first time ever driving a S/C Marauder. Went from Jacksonville to Atlanta without stopping for fuel. Don't know what the mileage was but it is decent.

First time I stepped on it was in Tifton, exiting a gas station (coke break) and it spun around like it was on ice. I'm talking SPUN AROUND and I don't mean just the tires!!! Whoa, this is going to be a learning experience.

Got home about 9:00 and put on my new Nittos. At 7:00 the gang met at Cracker Barrel where I picked up a few pointers about how to drive this beast. Got my first run in at 10:30 AM and it was my best of the day. As you can see below, I need more experience. Horrible reaction times and lots of tire spin, both out of the hole and when hitting second. Played with air pressure, settled on about 20 lbs. Left it with the 93 octane tune from Dennis but the Kooks with 3" collectors are still in my garage waiting for install by Grand (along with the rest of the exhaust system). With the Kooks and a race tune, (and some experience) I'm shooting for 11's. Gotta have a goal! Thanks Dennis

Nice!

Did DR give you any dyno #'s?

Best,

Dan

Yes, it dyno'd at 536 hp and 450 lbs of torque.. I will pick up some with the Kooks (w/3" collectors) and a 3" "catless" system all the way back. By going "catless" I will be able to run the high energy drink. My goal is to make it to the 11's. Got get better on my driving, especially reaction time and figure out how to make it hook up. Thanks

Steve congratulations, it was a pleasure to spend time with you and race with you, I wish my car was as fast as yours. I understand what you mean about "getting better on my driving".......my driving needs a lot of improvement.

When you get used to your car your times will be fantastic. Javier.

Steve, congrats you've got a beautiful setup and were running strong! We'll be seeing some serious numbers from your car once you get the traction dialed in, took me plenty o' passes before getting a feel, and I'm still not quite there! I suspect I'll be on my 2nd set of DR before that happens!!!
