Well, we arrived at SSHS5 around 6pm Friday evening, parked the car, and popped the hood along with the Impala boys in the hotel parking lot. We weren't there 15 minutes when the first group walks over and the guy hollers " Trilogy motorsports!, Thats one of them bad a$$ Marauders!". And the rest is history
On a more serious/performance note here is what my car went through. We left Florida drove 592 miles in about 8 hours, next day was spent drag racing from mornign through the afternoon, then the car was driven back 592 miles in about 8 hours. Sounds good right? Well figure this in to the mix.... we averaged 22+mpg round trip with 2 Adults, full trunk, plus 2 'baby' Nitto Drag radials (one in the trunk, he wouldn't behave, and one in the back seat). Speeds all averaged above 80mph. The drag racing, the car saw 10 passes between 12.6-12.7, at least 4 burnouts worthy of John Force fame... several Impala guys came ot me in the pits and were going "thats the car, thats the car doing the massive burnouts..." , makes my heart warm with pride :burnout:
The car is running Trilogy kit #104 with 9psi, the standard out of the box tune, a PI 3k TC, full exhaust w/ FMS shorties (installed by Grand Muffler), K&N FIPK, and Nitto DR when at the track. If I didnt mention it, except the suspension, everythign else is stock, including the gears.
No Smoke (wel except the burnouts...), no Mirrors, no race gas, no special tunes, certainly no N20.
Am I surprised that a 12 sec, 4400 pound car can return this kind of mpg, and be so reliable? A little, but then again, I fully expected this from the Trilogy kit. I however did not anticipate the "thats one of them bad a$$ Marauders!", but it made my day!
