Will miracles never cease--at 3PM today I drove a Black Marauder 300B into my garage---permanently. After waiting over a year, within 2 days everything came together and I am now a Marauder Man. It is a 300B but it has an in-dash clock, locking gas cap, 6-disc CD and the full time traction control (listed as standard equipment, not as an option). Delivery price under 27,500 +TTL. DOM 11/4/02 . Got everything I wanted. I am still in shock and haven't had a chance to really get the feel, but the local driving feels geat--can't wait to really put her through the paces---now I know why you love this car. As the salesman said, " I never saw a 74 year old change to an 18 year old in the showroom"-- Mama didn't shoot me--so all in all, it has been A GREAT DAY. now to do a little customizing---------

Thanks, DOK, happy to join the group--was born 11/27/28--grew up loving cars--sponsored a '37 Chevy w/390 Merc at a Nascar short track on Long Island in the 60's--been driving high performance Merc 4-doors since '65--I'm more into track rather than dragging--hope to run the MM at Texas Motor Speedway for a few laps in May--we'll see

Gotta love it! Cruzer = 74 years young.

Hey Cruzer our cars are twins and were even manufactured on the same day. Do you have a chrome bezel around the shifter? Please let me know. Thanks!!

My daughter got my 99 GM w/P&H package and now her hubby informs me the he wants first dibs on the MM when " you get too old to be driving it" he's got a long wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hav a few unique things I have collected from Mercury over the years--first Merc was a '53 4-dr---badges,special plaques and an original god's head cloth patch---now all I have to do is find them-- enjoy the Spring weather in Illinois

Thanks for the congrats--didn't get to answer before now--computer failure. Martyo--I have the regular charcoal bezel--did notice that the factory brochure shows chrome. Still haven't had a chance to open her up, but, so far everything is better than expected..Please don't ban me from the site, but I have the only MM with a '91 Lincoln Continental hood ornament--have to have cross-hairs to keep out of ditches ('92, '95 and '99 GMs all have them. )Looking forward to meeting all the D/FW owners---

I would be interested in seeing how this looks. Could you post pictures of this?

Have the pictures in my digital camera--will post as soon as I get all my computer programs reinstalled . I can
also give you the drill size and a template--I did all the installations myself---- one big problem---put the ornament on and everyone swears you own a (yuk) Lincoln LS.--actually, I found the polished black hood just disappeard under certain lighting conditions and I had no reference as to road position

Good luck with the car!
a hood ornament is not the craziest i've hear, in fact me and a few friend were messing around with the idea of a "Godshead" hood ornament (somthing like the Rams head found on the Old Dodge rams). im obsessed with this Gods head. i love it and want to put it anywere i can (without going too crazy) :)

I'm still having trouble with my computer---so , no pictures yet. I think you might be able to modify the '91 Continental ornament since it is clear plastic--an inset god's head would look good. Got to do a quick check of te handling of my MM--quite impressed with the steering response--wonder how it would do on a road course. I should see Logan at the Dallas meeting Thursday--if my computer is still on the fritz, I'll give him hard copies of the photos.

My 1985 Parisienne had one. So I was kind of pleased, in a nostalgic sort of way, to see one on the 2003 Town Car I rented in San Diego in January. Went well with the car, I'd have to see a picture of a MM with one before deciding if it would work for me or not.

Update on the hood ornament---gave photos to Logan tonight--tech info to go with them--need 5/8 inch hole cutter--I used 1991 Linc Continental ornament--place ornament in exact middle of strip between grille and hood--drill hole perpendicular to FLOOR, not the hood--have to file lock slots--cut bottom section of nut cup off leaving spring exposed--may have to cut off a small amount of lower baffle--DON'T scratch the paint---good luck !
