I have a sony deck (a few yrs old) that I'm thinking of slapping in the ole Marauder. I just got 2 10"s put back in and they sound great... I'll comment on that in a sec.
What I was wondering is if anyone has used any of the aftermkt adaptors that retain stereo controls via the steering wheel controls.
What did you use? I saw crutchfield has one called PAC SWI-X or something like that. I didn't know if anyone has had any experience w/ it or something like it. url:

or manuf. site:http://www.pac-audio.com/swixprogramming/default.htm

BTW- you can froogle.google it for about 45 bucks

any other options you know about?

i forgot; i was going to mention the sub install. i pulled out the oem sub and saw how puny it was (now i know what all that rattling back there was)

tossed it and had my subs re-installed. re-installed you ask? i had a wedge box from my prior vehicle - a ford ranger. i had it dropped in the trunk a year ago. the enclosure was suited more for an in-cab sound. my new box is up on the shelf where the spare & old sub resided, spare is now in the base of the trunk (sub in the trash as relayed earlier)

I have 2 10"s in a ported box- port facing the back seats. Sounds I'd say 5 times louder as before. No more rattles either. Gotta love it.

I have had the PAC SWIX unit in my car for over a year. It can be a bit temperamental at times, but for the most part I am happy with it.

A lot of the newer high end equipment have infered to use exsisting controls.
