What tire pressure should I run?
Earlier this year, I had put in 41 lbs pressure front and rear from what I had read on this group. Rode like a truck. Well, after not checking them in a loooooooooong time, I checked them today and found 31 lbs all around. Car rides a little better, but still hard. Don't know how long they have been this low.
1. KDWS tires of the correct size.
2. I don't race or do burnouts. (I.E. Rears are wearing great)
3. No abnormal wear in 14000 miles (I.E. Front Alignment is great)
Please advise.

This is very much a "personal preference" issue, and I've been pleased with the results of 40 PSI for city driving, and 36-38 for road trips, depending on seasonal temps. In the summer, I'll go down to 36, and 38 in Spring and Fall.

I run 40, but usually bring them to 35 in the winter because I drive more elderly...

Well I am "elderly" so I'm bringing down (up) to 35 lbs. (Will never be as soft as my Continental, even when I set the Continental suspension to "Firm").
Speaking of "elderly" I think I mentioned in another thread that last friday, when I was driving South between Post and Sweetwater Texas, someone mentioned that there was a "Plain Black Wrapper Southbound". A trucker then came on and said, "No, thats some OLD GUY driving". ;) Told him "I'm not old", and he then said, "well your older than me". :baaa:

That's a good question. I don't do burnouts either. Do mostly turnpike driving at about 70 MPH. Inflated tires to the 35 psi called for. Front tires have tons of wear left. Rears are wearing in the middle with plenty of tread on the outside. I wonder if 35 psi is too high in light of tire wear but I haver to say ride is perfect. Not hard at all. Got almost 29K on my 04. Akignment is perfect. By the way, I noticed on the left front a fine crack is develoiping around the perimeter of the tire about a half inch from where the tread meets the sidewall. Is the tire tread starting to separate from the tire caracss or is this fine line normal? My other fornt tire doesn't have this.

I'm glad someone else noticed this. I have 15K on my front tires and last week I noticed the same thing on both fronts. Never picked up on it before. My rear tires are brand new KDW2's, but the old KDWS' didn't have this prominent crack or line. Hummmmm.

Tere was a thread on here once about this subject and I think the general concensus was running them at about 38 to 40. This is supposed to help stop the center tire wear on the rears, which I had and replaced them at about 13,000 miles. So far I have been running 38 pounds all around and the tires seem to be wearing good. I will need to double check this today when I get home.

....and my fronts are going strong at 26,000+. the rears were replaced at 24,000 because previous owner underinflated them. I don't think 40 PSI makes the car ride too harsh at all. It feels just right in the mountains of North Carolina where I'm on vacation right now. :)
