I had some more "bonding w/the MM" last night.
I installed the trans temp manifold from Autometer and a set of Sylvania Silverstars on the Marauder.
Lights: Wow! What a difference! The lights are so much clearer now. It's like a Trilogy for the headlights!
The Trans Temp:
I am not interested in a lengthy thread about trans temp sensor locations. I read all the threads and posts and decided what temp I wanted to read. I installed mine at the junction near the cooler where the metal lines connect to the rubber lines and the fluid flows away from the transmission.
I originally had the sensor in the trans case. The temps on the guage were not the same as the temps on the data logger. And since I had the trans temp manifold laying around, I installed it.
Does anyone know the proper Silverstar part number for the fog lights?

I will look at home tonight if no one knows off the top of their head.

The parts listing at the store did not show a replacement for the fogs.
Thanks.

I am pretty sure the that SilverStar foglights are the SS H1. Last time I looked here, they had 1 and they were $19.95/each. Wish you could get them in a 2 pack like the headlights.

Defyant,
I am interested in seeing some pics of your manifold installation.
I have my gauge installed but I need to put in the manifold.
I was going to do it in the cooling line just outside of the transmission,
but in-line before it gets to the cooler will work too.
As far as the fog lights go, Sylvania sells the H1 ST fogs.
Don't bother with them because they burn out very quickly.
They are way too expensive for the amount of time they are rated for.
Cheaper H1 bulbs last way longer than the SilverStars.
I've had the SilverStar H9007s installed since my Marauder was new
and have never had to change them and I drive everywhere
with all my lights ON.
The H1 STs seem to burn out every other month and I'm just tired
of paying $35 for a pair of them, when the regular Sylvania H1s
are as little as $5 each, and last all year long.

I'm guessing that they're not 9006's?
I haven't looked yet but want to get some for all four lights.

Your link doesn't work and the site doesn't list the fog lamps.
I just wrote to Sylvania and asked that they re-list the fog lamps.

Yea the part number is the H1, and I installed mine about 5 or 6 months ago and so far have had no issues, ok well the first light blew out the second i turned it on but that's because i'm super intelligent and touched the bulb. But no issues so far. I do want to go buy the PIAA 100w H1s though, but I REALLY don't have the money for them right now. Oh well, I digress.

I've had the H1s in my foggies for about a year and a half with no issues. They're nice and white. :D
Do you have pix of where you placed the gauge?

Same here, no problems with the H1 Silverstars for over a year. When installing the H1's or any halogen bulb do not touch the bulb. Th oils from your fingers will boil when turned on and blow the bulb. Use some rubbing alcohol to clean before turning on.
