Hey guys, how about us getting together at Bradenton Drag Way on Sunday -November 20th 9 am-5 Pm for a Marauder Drag Day? We all had a blast at the last test n tune day on October 29th. We need to take advantage of the cooler weather. Maybe bring some grills, coolers etc. and having a bar-b-q there and making a fun day of it.
Claude & Chuck will probably be happy to man the grill:lol: Anyone interested? Maybe, I'll get some more Marauder race team shirts made up for the group...:D

Tom, Cape Coral, Florida.

So far we have tentatively coming: Bootlegger, PackRat, RicknMiami and JMAN (have to see about the T-Shirt J) and myself along with my daughter (03 Mach 1) and my son-in-law (94 MK VIII). Anyway, hopefully more will attend as the time gets closer. :)

Cool. Hopefully you both can make it. My daughter has an 03 Mach 1 (auto) and it will be her first time on the drag strip. She is really excited and would love to see your Mach there for support.

Tom,
I was being facetious, since I don't have a Marauder! My sister and brother in law are coming down from Nashville that day. I have to find out what time they arrive and what festivities are planned for me that day before I fully commit. It's only an hour and change away though. May end up being a morning thing at the track. I also need to get my blown rear shock taken care of first. I need to get my launches down and that may be inhibiting them. Will be stopping by the dealership today so they can order it/them. I'm certain they don't stock shocks for Marauders/Sports. Will report more concretely tomorrow!

Tom,
No can do for me. Still have a blown shock after hours of waiting at the dealership. It is so bad, it will stick the left rear of my car up or down. The air suspension compensates but it still is canted up or down until you shake it loose. Then the suspension settles it back to the proper level. I have never seen an un-bent shock absorber do that and I've worked in the automotive industry since '77. That will be the last time I use that dealer also even though I know the Service Director, Parts Mgr. and several Technicians.

Now on a different note, I have solved the torque convertor lock-up puzzle on my car. Wow, what a difference. No more lock-up for me at the 1-2 shift. It actually feels like a performance car (That weighs two tons.) beyond first gear now. You guys have fun. See ya's next time (Soon I hope!).

J, sorry to hear that your shock problem is not resolved. Good news on the converter though. Looks like the day may be a bust anyway. Rain is in the forcast. I will be keeping a close eye on the weather and see what happens. I will keep everyone posted.

Yeah, with weather as it is and the possibility of another hurricane hitting on Monday, I'm not going to be able to make it. Maybe one day in December?

Well I drove up
And besides the three timeouts due to an accident and a blown engine, and one other event
I think I'll be going up next month(12-18) for the next Runday
Two things ruled the day street bikes and a gang of Supras
The Supras' basically annihilated each competitor
And the Bikes outnumbered every car that competed(seemed like it)
There were a lot of kick ass pro driver's and a few hot bikes
I've never seen so many plain jane stock cars, trucks, and SUV's line up one after another to "see what she'll do"
BTW a lot of female drivers' mashin' on the gas today
But all in all it was a terrific day for me and my brother ;)

Seemed rather warm today for the track. Least it didn't rain as per the forecast. My daughter and son were at the track today and ran against each other. She had a red, 03 Mustang Mach 1 and he had his 94 Mk VIII. She did real well for her first time out, bone stock Mach 1, 14.1 ET at 100 MPH and a 14.5 ET. My son-in-law beat her both runs though with a 13. 2 and 13.1 (his personal best) with his modded hot rod Lincoln with a 75 Shot of Nitrous. Looks like the next time we all got to the track it will be a family affair. My daughter really caught the bug though. Started asking me about gears and a supercharger. She wants to beat her husband real bad. Made me laugh:D . Apples don't fall far from the tree I guess.

Glad to hear you and your brother had a great time.:) Let's hope for some real cool weather. I need it bad.....

I actually believe I saw this race
Was it a silver Mark with a hole cut in the passenger bumper, I like the way it ran, very strong and quick
I think the Mach was Blue or Red I believe,
When I was walking thru the staging lanes,a guy was coaching a girl in a red 'stang, on launching on the tree.....

Hopefully I can bring a couple cars when I come thru again....

My downpoint :o on the way home I got a speeding ticket :nono: but I got caught legit, so it's no hard feelings

Yep, they were my kids.:D She had the red Mach 1 Mustang. The guy coaching her was me. He had the Silver Mk VIII. He is gettting a Procharger put in that car next week. It should really fly and probably beat my car. That is his mission. Beat the old man. Thats OK . I managed to talk the wife into letting me go as it was my daughters first time at the track. I needed to be there to coach her for safety you know. :P We didn't arrive until 12:30 PM or so. Place was packed. I didn't take the Marauder and drove up with her.

Better build the bottom end on the Mach before S/Cing it. If its stick it has a forge crank but thats it. If its an automatic its a cast crank. Either way, no more than 8psi of boost or it will hand grenade on her. I have been thinking about it myself, but unless I hit the lotto, it will be a while.
Sorry, I missed the weekend, but it was a fun weekend with my daughter. Let me know when the next one is.

Oh yeah, if her car is S/C'd it will be with 8 lbs of boost and a super safe Diablosport tune. Her car is an automatic. I will be heading to the track just as soon as I can get a nice cool day or night. I for sure will keep you posted.
