OK so right now on my car are toyo Proxes T/S 255/40/19 on the rear... and they fail BADLY. They do not hook... so here goes, I wanna stay with 19" cuz the baers won't fit the rims I want in 18" I don't think (14in baers on the front ) the wheels I want have a sort of indent under the lip so anything less than 19" might not clear the front in this style... so in the rear the widest tire I have found that goes with our sizes that aren't truck tires is 275/45/19... pirelli... the question is will that width give me good traction or is it 50/50... any insight would help :D
edit pic of wheels so ou see what I mean about the fronts might hit @ 18"

Try 285/40-19. I know the following has this size.
Bridgestone Potenza (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE050A+RFT&partnum=84YR9RE050ARFT&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=0)
Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=PZero+Rosso+Asimmetr ico&partnum=84YR90AR&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=1)
Yokohama AVS Sport (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=AVS+Sport&partnum=84ZR9AVSSAS&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=2)

I would suspect that "Truck Tires" will have a rubber compound designed for extended mileage.....Very poor hookup under power??
I was advised by my tire guy not to go with any truck tire and to stick to performance tires for my MM......Won't get the best mileage but will handle better!!
I have Nitto NT-555's and though I can spin them from a SS I have not done any drag racing so no real comparison to the BFG's except they feel a HELLOFALOT better!!:burnout:

Ya that's my current issue. I have performance tires but they are 255 wide... and they cannot grab. The largest perf tires I can find in 19" for not $500 is a 275, and I'm wondering if that's enough... there were some KDWIIs for $300, but they are 295/35/19... but that makes them smaller than even the fron size :(
