My AC on startup blows from the vents as advertised, then... after applying the go pedal the air suddenly switches to the defroster vents. If I let off the go pedal it will switch back sometimes. The dealer had the car for two days and wants it back for futher troubleshooting. Has anyone had this happen to them? Should I rob a bank now or later? Thanks in advance, Rob

You have a vacume leak somewhere. The climate control is designed with a fail-safe feature. If there is a vacume leak or no vacume the system goes to full heat and defrost. This is to keep the windows clear so you can still operate the vehicle. When you step on the gas, vacume drops, system goes into fail-safe mode.

Have you done any work, cleaning, searching under or behind anywhere on your dashboard? Start simple and with a bright flashlight check all your lines going to the different actuators under there. Sound like a disconnected vacuum line. Good Luck.:)

I had a faulty check valve replaced on my MM. The only difference was that the air flow would go to the floor instead of the defrosters.

Just my .02 and then some.
