anyone care to readdress this old topic? Anyone look at different TB's? I hear are is dual bore and someone has tried a full bore. What is out there for us? Is ours even worth upgrading?

What is out there for us? Is ours even worth upgrading? I've made many changes to my MMs, and investigated a lot of mods for their value and bang for the buck. I see no benefit in changing the OEM throttle body, it's doing a great job.

didn't the older cobra oval single plain type flow a lil bit better? If you could find one in a junkyard I doubt it would be as expencive as the $400 ones I see on every site.

I did the single blade large oval t/b. I noticed better throttle response and better off the line acceleration from normal driving. Some complain about the jerkyness of the throttle response but i have not noticed anything, but my t/b is used so i think it may be the spring tension being stiffer on new ones. I noticed a SOTP performance gain but i am s/c and have a better flowing air intake than stock. Search around on lightning forums and ebay, i got mine polished for under 120 bucks. Good luck
Greg
PS. the stock t/b flows like 800-900 cfm, a small oval single blade does 1200-1300 and the large does 1500-1600cfm.

Here is the one i bought. Dont really know the years but they come from lightnings and cobras. Just make sure the linkage rotates the right way and the cable hook ups are in the right spot. The one i bought has the linkage on the other side but you just turn over the throttle body and all is good the top and bottom look the same and it hid the cobra name for me. HTH

When i searched for mine i just type throttle body in the key words box then ford in the make. Then i scrolled through looking for a oval t/b. I use to try accufab as a key word but found my t/b doing it the first way.
