I am a little cold and deprived of sleep, but I want to thank the C.A.M member that supported me today into the winners’ circle. I ran a personal best of 13.68 on stock motor and O.E.M tires and won 1st place in Modular Street class at the Northern Virginia Mustang Club 4th annual completion. This trophy comes with 500 dollars cash and bragging rights for the year in my club. I will post pictures , time slips, and other stories from the event soon. http://www.healthdiscovery.net/forums/images/smilies/goal.gif

Wish I could have gone. The sri and lidio tune caused me to spin tires from idle making me wonder what it will run.

These junk tires gave me 1.999 60ft time, go figure.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It’s not often that a N/A Marauder gets any recognition these days considering the amount of Supercharged Marauders. Cruztaker set the standard last year for N/A Marauders at this very same track. It’s been my goal to meet or exceed his time. Brian ( Fordnut) before Supercharged put down some impressive times and was one of the leaders in N/A. My next mod is to replace the O.E.M tires with BF drag radials and a race gas tune.

Big House sent me a P.M. and we will talk about bolt-on mods.

I would like to also thank Todd Fisher and the crew at Team Ford for putting this car together for me. They are some of the best hands that a Marauder can find. I had a great day Saturday and many great memories.

I may not be the fastest Marauder in Maryland, but I hold two competitive 1st place victories at 2 different Maryland tracks in 30 days.

For three years running, Marauders have taken first place trophies at this event.

In 2003 I took First in the Modified Class
In 2004 FatBastad took First in Stock Class
In 2005 Merc took First in Stock Class

This is now a Dynasty.

That is a very good question....

And one I couldn't explain with out going into the inner workings of the mind of a Marine/Fairfax County Police Officer.

I hope this answers your question.

1.) Stock Street- bolt ons only, no power adders or major engine mods, street tires only, no drag radials, no electronics.
2.) Pure Street- any mods, no slicks, et street type tires or MT drag radials allowed, nitto and bfg drag radials are allowed, no electronics
3.) Mod Street- modular motor cars only, no power adders, street tires only, nitto and bfg drag radials are allowed. No MT Drag radials allowed, no electronics.
4.) Extreme Street- Anything goes, slicks allowed, no electronics

Merc - thought I posted here but guess it didn't take or I posted in my sleep. :)

Anyway, it was great seeing you take the class and the trophy. We were all cheering and thrilled to see the vicotry! I'm in this pic, hidden by that massive trophy. :) My little sister is on the right, she came along to watch the races, I think she really enjoyed seeing her first drag race. Who knows, years from now I may have to pass down my Mustang GT to her so she can hit 1/4 mile.

Anyway, congrats to merc!! Second time I've seen you race and you've won both times... :)

I ran a personal best of 13.68 on stock motor and O.E.M tires...I tried to go into your garage to see what you have done but the administrators have restricted my access to it. So would you post your mods, if any. "Stock motor" can mean a lot of other things have been done. I'm guessing gears, a tune program, convertor and exhaust upgrades to get that time, which is awesome if I may say so myself. May I say so?

Merc, this is quite an accomplishment. As I am sure you know, several S/Ced MMs are running times that are comparable to yours now.

My first best quarter time with the stock Trilogy and several less mods got me 13.59 in the 1/4. Granted I could not drive for crap as that was my first trip ever to the track.

Merc:

Great job on your run - incredibly good time for a N/A MM with your mods. Your performance mods list is nearly 100% identical to mine except for the electric water pump and the Auburn rear. The HP is exactly the same at 287. You are now #2 in the MM "13 sec N/A Timeslip Club" behind Barry (if my memory is correct). Hopefully, the "Timeslips" will be back up soon so we all can updates our runs.

Congrats Mark on your best ever runs at Mason-Dixon and for keeping up the tradition of Marauder 1st Place trophies at the event. :2thumbs: Sorry that I missed this one due to travel out west.

Looks like Defyant might have placed well in his class too if he had been given the chance to run again after his perfect first round run. :( The sound system there at Mason-Dixon could use an upgade ( I had trouble hearing the class calls at M-D last year).

So were there only two Marauders making trips down the 1320 ?? No Haggis or Breadfan runs. Who else attended??
