Anyone here near Georgetown???

The reason I'm asking this, is because there's a car in georgetown, Texas that I'm considering buying, but I'm in Connecticut, and all I have to go by are pictures. I know that I can pay some place $100 to have it inspected, and I just might do that, but I would also feel more comfortable if one of my fellow Marauder owners here could take a quick look at it for me too if there's anyone who isn't that far away from Georgetown.

I hope that I'm not asking too much here, but if anyone is close by and can help me out, then send me a PM please.

about 15 maybe 20 miles down the road. Logan is closer, but I don't think we'll see him until he runs out of gas on that new truck of his. :)

If I can get my MM back up and running tomorrow I'd be willing to go take a look for you and do a test drive. (Can't work on my car until after work - and they'll I'm sure be closed on Thursday - but maybe I can check it out on Friday or Saturday for you.)

Thanks guys. This isn't about another Marauder. this is for an old muscle car that I wanted to build up, but the owner is hiding something, because he doesn't seem to be taking too kindly to me having someone look at his car before I place a bid on it via e-bay. So I'm afraid we will have to forget about this. But there's another guy with one in Humble Texas, but I'm being told that there are two places in Texas named "Humble". One being next to Dallas, and the other near Houston. So I'll have to find out which one this other guy is in.:confused:

Billy: I have located but not bought a number of cars through e-bay. I get in touch with the seller and start a dialog. I bought two cars this way with good success. If you get bad vibes from the seller you are wise to move on.

Keep up the smart shopping and keep us posted on how you make out. I like semi-secret projects! :D

Thanks for the response everyone. I just found out that this guy is located in the Humble, Texas that's near Houston, so it sounds to me like Logan is the closest to where this guy is. This guy said that he is going to give me a call tomorrow (Friday) to give me a location where he will be willing to meet with whoever I have look at the car.

Marty, I've been shopping on ebay to try and find a car for this project of mine for the past two months, and I've spoken with three guys over the phone about their cars, and all three guys told me that their cars were close to perfect. However, when Chuck was nice enough to look at one of them for me, and Todd & Brian were willing to look at the other two, it turns out that all three cars weren't anything like what the owners had said about them, nor were they anything like what they looked like in the ebay pics either. So I've been having a rough time trying to find something.

I won a bid on a car in NH, and the guy wouldn't even answer the phone nor get back to me for three days. And then when I finally got ahold of him, he kept on giving me excuses why he couldn't meet with me so that I could see the car and and pay him in full. So this whole e-bay thing has me very cautious. BTW, I reported that guy to e-bay three times, but they really don't care as long as they get their $$.

I'm about 25 minutes from Humble. Tomorrow afternoon I'm heading to the Autorama so I'll be out and about. Tomorrow morning I can't do it due to wifey hitting all the damn sales so I have all three kids in the AM for sure.

hey guys, Logan just told me that Humble, texas 9the one near Houston) is further away from him than he thought. he siad it's about a 2 hour drive for him. So that's kind of far for me to expect him to go.

Is there anyone else here who's closer? the guy just called me and said that he wants to meet with whoever I have to look at this car at 3:00 pm tomorrow (saturday) at the North Line Mall in front of papa's BBQ which is located at the I-45 North "cross members" exit. so if anyone knows where that is, and is closer than 2 hours away, then please chime in, or send a PM to me, because i have to get back to this guy to confirm the meeting.
