Just wondering when reflashing the computer, I'm using the Xcal2, have you been taking out the fan fuse and the relay for the fuel pump. I had a hell of a time getting the fuel pump relay out first only the cover for the relay came out then i had to use a dental pick to get the relay actually out.

With winter coming the original software should go back in worried the hard shift may make the rear end step out easily. I just don't want to go through all that with fuse panel again, do you think its safe just to plug it in and reflash. I'm thinking its like when doing any work on the car you should disconnect the battery but no one every does.

Looking for ideas

I use a Predator but I've never taken out a fan fuse or fuel pump relay...just turn your headlights off, stereo off, air off, and misc stuff like radar detectors, off. I also turn the key on once before using the tuner so the air bag pump starts up and then next time I turn on the ignition it won't.

You should be just fine without removing the fan fuse or fuel pump relay...

What he said^^. You shouldn't have to pull anything out, just turn off any accessories. Plus, you need the battery connected because IIRC, the key needs to be in the On position with power to do the reflash.

You do not have to on the Marauder.

Worked fine for me with xcal2 without removing fuses. I haven't a clue as to where they might be located. It takes a few minutes with the key turned to ON to upload/download the tune programs, so just be sure you have the A/C, heater, radio, etc turned off before you start. It just avoids unnecessary battery drain. That's my crackpot theory, anyhow.:D

yep both dennis and Lidio confirmed you don't have to! Before aquiring that lil bit of info I had a hell of a time trying to remove them anyways cause the MM doesn't come with pullers like my other cars did.

I am glad to see this post as I thought about posting the same question. The instructions do say to do exactly that and I did follow them the first time. I have been thinking about loading the 91 octane tune for the winter to cover any chance of bad gas, although I also won't be getting on it like in warmer weather, but just want to cover that chance. Definitely don't want to go back to the stock tune - driveability is just so much better with Lidio's tune.

Just always wondered about pulling those relays. Now I will try it without doing it. Anyone know why it is recommended for other vehicles but not the Marauder?

The easiest way to disable the fuel pump is to pull the 20 amp fuse located in the box behind the battery.
You dont have to mess with any relay.

There's no backup source? Many GM cars have a backup source of power to the fuel pump in case the relay fails.

I may have used an incorrect term. I think both items that I pulled, per the instructions, were in that box in the engine compartment. One was a fuse and the other, I think, was a relay. I think one was for fuel pump and one for fans.

Either way, does seem from posts here that it doesn't matter either way as you can do the reflash without pulling the fuses as long as all accessories are turned off and air compressor is not running.
