I drive mine every day. Long trips, short trips, grocery store... Keep the accelerator off the floor boards and it's just like any other car. Get into it and watch out on wet/snowy roads. This is hands down the best car I have ever owned. Very reliable and resposive. In my opinion, dollar for dolllar it's the most car for your buck.
Nice Stang!

It is difficult to fully answer your question without knowing your location.
You say BC...British Columbia? If this is the case, the MM is useless without snow tires. Plan to spend $500 or so on steelies and snows if you intend to drive it in the Canadian winter. The car is quite formidable with snow tires.
If the car remains stock, you may expect as much as 24 mpg depending on how you drive. The MM requires 91+ octane as well.
Everyone's opinion will differ as to wheather the MM is economical as a daily driver.
My opinion is NO. Particularly if you are tight on funds.
Otherwise, the MM will give you great pleasure driving daily. ;)

I think the MM is an excellent daily driver.
Yeah, snow tires are a must if you want to get through the powdery stuff, but that's the case with any high perforrmance car sitting on high performance tires... ask a WRX driver.
Plenty of taxis and police cars go everywhere in the snow, so... with the right tires, so can a Marauder.
Fuel mileage? Yeah, you could get a Jetta TDI or a Honda Insight and do better, but that would be quite an adjustment from the Kenne-Belle Fox! I wouldn't buy one for mileage, but I wouldn't avoid one because of mileage either. Actually, it does absurdly well on the highway... why a 4200 lb luxury car that hits 60 in just over 6 seconds will get 24 mpg is beyond me. Around town it's up to your right foot... figure 15 - 20 depending on how you drive it.
Best part of the MM as a daily driver though is it takes such good care of you. Its got 90% of the Lincoln luxury goodies... auto headlights, climate control, etc, a huge freakin' trunk, and its extra comfortable.
My 5.0 is a much more demanding car... still love it, but the MM is very easy to live with.

I have 47K miles on mine. I do park it in the winter. I don't worry about the cost of gas. It's cheaper than therapy.

I also believe that the MM is a very good daily driver. You get looks every where you go.

I have had my MM for 8000 miles and think it is a good daily driver. It is a big, good looking car. My mileage is about 16-20 mpg. I must be getting more smiles per gallon than other people. My snow tires and heated seats are on order. This car is not cheap to operate, but I have enough flexibility in my budget for a few toys or tires. Perhaps I can visit this thread after the next 8000 or 18000 miles with an update. jeremy

I'll throw in the vote too that they make a good DD. I have had mine since July and it so far is a great all around car for a DD. My mileage varies with my foot preasure. Between 16 and 20.
Only regret is the number of miles I will be raking up but as mentioned above the smile per mile are the best with any car I have ever had.

yep as* long as you don't let the exhaust note instigate a pedal stomp you should be fine as a MPG daily driver. Be glad you didn't get the Altimatom cause the mm handles* and* parks exactly the same...no joke! only difrence is the back seat room.

My MM is my daily driver, family vaccation long hauler, weeked bracket racer(16-20 passes per race weekend minimum) and even an occational road course blast. I never really take mpg into consideration because It's the most economical car I own anyway and I'm going to drive reguradless of fuel cost/comsumption. My vote, GREAT daily driver.

Mine is such a great daily driver that I am S/C it. Not for the time I will save but for the time I am in it. Of course, by the time I get her up to temp it is time for my nap. Drive the hell out of it, be safe and enjoy. If you wanted practical there is always a honda..... Dennis
I've been driving mine everyday since June of 2002, with just about 60K on it. It is a nice daily car, especially if you need room for family and cargo. My last two daily drivers were Impala SS's ('95 and '96, the '95 was stolen). Mine has held up fairly well. No major things, just MANY little things have gone bad. The biggest one being the paint (it stinks), and the lack of quality in the electrical system (dash lights losing gnd, headlights going out (gnd again), interior coming apart, window switches going out, steering wheel controls going out, ect. So, drivetrain stuff has been ok, but they really missed the boat on everything else. I'm probably going to sell mine after this winter, after a quickie paint job.

I have about 22,000 miles on mine and get between 20 to 26.5 mpg. It is a great car I would like to have another one to mod out but too far our of my budget. Yes it does have little problems but not much worse than most cars I have had.

I only had the sender issue and the headlight condensation issue.

My Marauder is my daily driver. I've just hit 28,000 KM, with absolutely no regrets. The MM Makes a perfect daily driver - it's got class, roomy and can be a lot of fun to drive stock, and REALLY fun, with just a few mods. Chip, Gear n Filter and it still gets >20mpg, with my mixed driving routine.
Stock tires are a joke in the winter, so snow tires are a must. I just put mine back on, this weekend. For daily driver purposes, I'd be hard pressed to name anything i would consider over it, that didn't cost 2x as much.

I drive mine 130 miles round trip to work and back. Comfortable and quiet---mpg runs right at 20 (over several thousand miles of commuting at 70-75 mph). I've never gotten more than 21.5 on a tank. There's 50,000 plus on it and the only problem, to date, was a loose ground on the woofer.
If you can drive that Stang in the winter, you can drive the MM. I've never had a problem going (or stopping) with the Blizzacks that I put on this time of year (and that's in Minnesota).
You'll get a lot more looks and comments then from the Altima SER and the MM is a bigger, safer car if things go bad some time.

This about my situation too. I do right about 100 miles per day round trip and pretty much the exact same gas mileage. I did get 22 one time on the highway, but I have yet to do a tank of gas where I did not get on it some. Got 21.5mpg for a tank on daily commute - highway and in-town - and actually trying to drive it without getting on it at all. Pretty happy with that given the enjoyment I get out of this car.
Even had a buddy of mine see me driving in town today, with the steel wheels and winter tires on, and had to call me and tell me how good the car looks and sounds. And that is with the stock exhaust still.

I second that. My car has 38000 miles on and in the 6000 that I have owned it, it has been relatively problem free. Only have one reoccuring problem and that is if I stop hard while in reverse once in a while the car will stall out. It's very rare that it does happen but it happens once in a while. It's happened to me about six times and once while I was driving foward slowly. I may need to get the wiring checked. Not sure but other than that, no problems. I think the original owner had to have the radiator repalced once under warranty and that was it. Other than that, the rear airsuspension acts up once in a while with the airbags but that's really rare and only happens if I have been pushing the car really hard through turns. Other than that, no problems. No lights burnt out, no ticking, no blue smoke, one or two rattles when I really hit the gas once in a while and that's about it.
