Well got my new valve covers today. I got the Ford blue GT covers in the Ford parts catalogue and what a pain in the A$$..... But worth it the wife got them off e-bay for 30 bucks less than FRP said it was my Christmas present...( can we still say Christmas here?? ) and it looks sharp.

The drivers side was a bit of a pain real tight around the power brake booster and the Trilogy didn't help much as far as space goes niether. The passenger side was a real B!TCH....I read a post on how to do it and then called Claude the handyman on how to remove the fuel line from the rail. He tells me you need a special wrench and I have one I tell him alot of good that does me right now. He says I have two!! and he offered for me to borrow one but I found a empty 20 oz Pepsi bottle and made my own "SPECIAL" tool, work like a charm. That was about the point where a little gas let out of the line and I thought about setting her on fire.

The cover it self was hanging on the back about 1/4 of an inch if that and didn't want to let go, but after alot of cussing. screaming, busting my knuckles and pinching my fingers it gave up and I won. I'm glad putting them on was a tad easier.

Everything fit great the breather on the driver side is set a little further back so I need a 90 degree elbow and had to get a longer piece of hose and had to drill and tap the passenger side so I could bolt the PCV on.

Here's the pics (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/browseimages.php?c=3&userid=2456)

Now hows about powder coating those Trilogy parts? I forgot where I've seen one, but it was coated black and looked very nice.

I could not deside on what color or weather or not to chrome or polish the cam covers. Decision has been made! It looks like your engine belongs in a GT!!

very nice,.. :banana2:

man,.. I did mine the hard way. I went out and had them powder coated. I, however did not do the install. I heard what a PITA it was and had a local mechanic do it for me.

I think there are less 1/2 a dozen of us with blue valve covers. :cuke:

here's mine..

the light conditions make them look like a lighter blue,... I guess I need a better camera!

What is the piece next to the "elephant booger" with the red wire attached to it?

Mike they look even better in person. How about a pic with the painted coil covers. They really finish it off. Dennis:beer:

Looks like the siren for the alarm. That wire really should be plastic loomed. Give's a more factory/stealth look.

I saw this in King Fubar's gallery. Now I know what it will look like when it is done. Nice Job. Just 1 question... How difficult was it to do on the car?

King Fubar

Wasn't to bad I should've taken it off but I was running out of time. While its on the car you have to look at it from 3 different ways front, left and right sides.

Minus the getting pi$$ed and the many sit down and stew smoke breaks, I figure 8 hrs if I would've kept at it.
