Alright my brakes are shot. The car has 89,642 miles on it and the rotors have never been trimmed or replaced. i asked a dealer if they could simply trim them and they said they could, but with 89,000 miles on them it would be best to replace them. It's $125 per rotor and this doesn't count on my extended warrany because it's ware and tare. So I was wondering what options I have for upgraded brake packages. I know theres an add the keeps coming up on this website, but I wanna know all of the options and want to make sure the kits are for all 4 and not just the front two.... that would look goofy. So whats out there?

Prob'ly within the next year or so, I'll be needing/wanting some bigger brakes too. I'll be going to TCE. I'm hoping to throw a couple grade his way sometime in the future.

So whats out there?I'm not being a smart-azz by saying this, but, have you done any searching here? You're really not providing enough information. Your wallet may be the one that directs you. How much can you afford to spend? $500? $1,500? $3,000? What about your brake pads? Dennis Reinhart, Todd TCE and WChain all sell brake products.

I'll speak up for the 14" KVRs Dennis sold me. Best brake performance I've ever had, including motorcycles.

Don't skimp on the rotors. The mass of the rotor is the best insurance you have against fading. Any good shop should tell you it's always best to replace, that is if the rotors are bad. Since metallic pads have been out of favor lately by most manufacturers, rotors don't wear out like they used to.

But at 90,000 mles I'd say you should probably replace them. $250 is cheap insurance against brakes that are 5 or 10% sub-standard. 5% might mean the difference between paying a deductible on a minor front crash. On this car a minor front crash can cost $2500, easy.

I'll speak up...

If I had to build a 3rd marauder, I'd be putting the Baer 14" Kit on, without question...

See this is why I asked and didn't do a search I wanted to know everyones experience first, this was the point. So what problems with the brakes were you having?

I went on Ebay and purchased a set of cross-drilled and slotted rotors with the pads, Front and rear for $300 shipped. They are zinc coated so they will not rust and they made a huge difference in stopping power.

I went the cheap way out for better braking
