I saw it tonight as well. Also caught the Galaxie 500 show a little earlier. I thought I saw a #12 Marauder in some of that footage as well. I taped it MM show on my VCR but don't have the equipment to make it byte size for posting. I was disappointed they did not touch on the 03/04's as others have warned but agree that it was still worth viewing for the history (I didn't really know the S55 story either). Speed also had an Impala show on earlier. Although they briefly mentioned the 94/96 versions, no mention of the latest Impala (Malibu) versions. I had never heard anyone call it a "Mar-roader" before the few times they did about a third of the way through the show.

They didn't talk about it but they did show one in the background. When the one gentleman was talking about the "factory ban" there was a black one sitting behind outta focus but you could tell it was an '03/'04 Marauder.

I really liked the show and learned alot about the history of the marauder. I think the early ones looked the best.

The shows caused me to wonder more about the CV links and Panther beginings. I found several blerbs on answers.com. I'll try to list the links below. In the MM blerb, they provide a link to the MM.net site and brief aftermarket comments. Didn't really care for the 94/96 Impala SS comment.

Careful, the "facts" they give about the S-55 in this program are not very accurate. Petro talks about it being a special limitted edition high performance car. It is not. It was Mercury's top of the line model in 1963, that could be had in both Monterey and Marauder. The S-55 was a bucket seat car with floor shifter, padded dash, the tri-colored wheel covers, and a 300 hp 390 4V in place of the 250 hp 390 2V. The high performance came in the form of a 406 or 427 engine (dependant on the first half or second half of the year) which could be had in any full size Merc, not just the S-55. The Mercury S-55 was similar to the Galaxie XL package.

For that matter the facts on that Wikipedia are pretty off as well...take that all with a grain of salt...still, some great info there!

I taped about 12 hours of the Speed Channel Muscle car shows last Friday.
Even though I had seen many of them, they are still good to watch every now and then. (The Chevy COPO segment was interesting.) I still haven't finished watching all of them.
The car that really got my attention (one of my all time favorites) was a few shots of a red 1969 CJ428 Cyclone fastback, although that is the one and only car that I prefer in the bright orange color available that year..
To me, the Dan Gurney and Cale Yarborough 1969 Cyclones were a little over the top, and the nose, while good for the oval track, was downright ugly, IMHO.

Hi Kirk ... I seem to recall a statement during the show that said something like "... only 500 of the high performance S-55 Marauders were made. Most of those went to the racing industry. Only about 50 went to the public. Most of those have been wrecked." The guy on the show said that he knows of only two now in existence. I assume that yours is one of them ...
Saw the MI plates on the car during the show .... was it yours?? :D
