Does anyone know where the block heater cord is on this big Merc. or is there one installed?

I don't think this was a option from the factory. You could of course get one.

The block heater sustitutes one of the freeze plugs to heat the coolant. There might be a diagram at your local Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealer along with pricing and availability. Maybe Ray (the Dealer) could help out with this.

J.C Whitney has one that you put in the engine oil dip stick tube for under $20.00.:D

Hey Batman! How's about letting us know where you live. Unless you live in Canada, you probably don't need one that bad. Just keep with the 0w30 oil and of course good coolant and you should be good to 40 below. What's needed more in colder climes is a battery heater.

Welcome to the clubhouse. There's some fast Marauders here but as of now, I'm only half-fast. (That doesn't sound right.) CV-PIs here are even less than that, but we tolerate them. They're like red-headed cousins, born into the family but the mailman had red hair and he was a Hatfield.

This site is definitely the best one for the real McCoys.
