View Full Version : Hole in drivers seat

It is on the left side about 2 inches from the edge and about 2 inches in front of the seat back. I thought that I must have had something sharp in my belt that wore a hole in the leather. Wrong? I press down on the seat at that spot and I am guessing that part of the seat frame has worn that leather away. I am not a big guy by any means.
It is an 03 with 25,000 miles. Will this be covered by the warranty?

Should be covered within 3 Year/36000 Mile warranty.
Mine and FordNut's seats had same hole caused by inadequate insulation between seat and metal frame.

I, too, have a small hole (in the seat:nono: ), right in the same area. It's about a 1/4 inch diameter. I thought that it was caused by something in my poket, but maybe not..

Had a problem with my drivers seat, felt like the drivers seat cusion was leaning to the right towards the console.Took the car back to dealer with 20,000 miles said he would order a new seat cusion,Well when I picked up the car it was worse than when I left it,so I took it to a local trim shop. The seat cover is held to the cusion by velcro which they did not reinstall correctly the trim shop added extra cushion to the bottom of the seat pad and the top of the seat pad they added extra cushion and used hog rings to secure the front flap that always pops off the front of the seats, total cost from the trim shop was $200 dollars and well worth the money. When they were reinstalling my drivers seat they noticed the velcro was not attached to the back of my front passenger also, fixed that for free.THATS FORD QUALITY

I was thinking about added padding like the mercedes and lexus seats. My friends is300 seats almost put you to sleep. at 32K and 3rd owner I haven't had that issue yet. you got picts so I know where to monitor for this ram rod?

Took the car to dealer today. They ordered new seat cover and cushion. No questions asked. They think they might file down the offending piece of metal after the service guy cut his finger on it.

wow if you cut yourself on something, thats something you deffinately don't wanna sit on. Did someone not realize this when designing the seat?

Is this a problem anyone else is having? I was thinking the same thing was happening to mine, but I can't really tell by looking at the seat. It's probably my butt that's crooked!

I know this is a very common problem on the Mustangs, but I haven't heard about it in any of the other Ford cars.
