WOWY ZOWY!!!!
I finally finished my #001 "Self Install" of FIT "ProCharger" kit #0010 and BOY DOES IT BREATHE!!!:bows: :banana2:
I would have never believed that 80 pounds of components would make such a WILD difference in my car!! Under "Normal" (manifold vacuum) conditions it drives...."Normally".....But get into the "BOOST" and WooooHoooo..........ZOOOOOOOOO M!!!:D
The installation is very straight forward with the worst part dropping the %*#@^ fuel tank by myself (Greg told me this was the worst part and he was right)!! It would have been easier with a helper!!
I took my time with the installation and Greg was right by the phone whenever I had questions....Day....Night....W eekend!!!:bows: These guys know what is meant by "Customer Service"!!
We ran into a bit of an EEC problem but Greg's "Tuner"....Dave Lamberson of Injected Racing in Springfield, MO.....straightened everything out by building me a "Real Custom" program from my "Stock" MAV2 program. This was all done via telephone and emails!! I cannot thank him enough for his time and effort as well!! He really knows the custom tuning business!!
The Diablo "Predator" tuner was very easy to use and has "Real Time" data available to monitor program changes as they are made!!
THE CAR IS TRUELY A WILD BEAST BUT STILL......very tame!!!:burnout:
If any of you are considering a blower be sure to talk with Greg and feel free to email me if you wish!!:)
Thanks again FIT, Greg & Dave!!!:bows:

Thanks Tom.....
It was worth every single busted knuckle!!!
If I were to consider it again...knowing what I know now.....I would go visit Greg & Mike at FIT and let them do the install!! They can actually do it in about 6 hours...turn key!!
Problem for me was Kansas City is just a bit far and I like "Wrenching"!!!;)
Gonna get a little more "Seat Time" today!!:bows:

AH but you don't get any "bragging rights" for having done it yourself !
Took me over a week to get my Trilogy installed. But hey... I'm slow and accidental ... er I mean ... deliberate when I work on a car. Took me 6 hours to install the Reinhart Exhaust.
In any event... the car is just soo much more fun with the extra power !
Challenge now will be to keep your foot out of it.
Welcome to the S/C ranks !

Congratulations, one more S/C Marauder, must be around 200 of them by now. Almost 2% of total production. Ford's lost is our gain. Enjoy your "new" car. Javier.
Congrats on the supercharger install....
Only a .01% threadjack here....
Why did you have to drop the fuel tank all the way???
I just joined the charged ranks like you and I LOVE it. I put Dennis Reinharts twin focus pump assembly in and didnt have to drop the tank, just lowered it an inch to get to a plug. Otherwise wouldnt have had to mess with it at all.....
We had to drop the passenger side exhaust in the rear by unbolting the hanger from the frame. Then had to pull the bolt from the panhard bar (or whatever you call it) on the side closest to the wheel (required using a big screwdriver to gently move the air bag out of the way). These two tasks allowed the factory assembly to slide out enough to change the pump if you were just making a swap.
However one of the plugs was looped back around and on top of the tank. You could get to it through the passenger fenderwell but couldnt release the connector on the plug. The connector was on top of the plug so you couldnt get a finger in there.
So we had to loosen the bolt on the drivers side strap that holds the tank in enough to get some slack, and then pull the bolt all the way out on the passenger side strap. The tank drops a couple inches which is just enough to get to the plug on from the fuel pump assembly. If it wouldnt have been for that plug we would only have had to drop the exhaust and the panhard bar.

Jack, good to hear everything with the install went well and Greg took good care of you. Dave's our guy when it comes to getting the tunes worked out. Did you go with the stealth or racing location for the intercooler?
I assume you also did the EV-1111 PVC mod. Let me know how that worked out because I'm looking at doing that too.
Have fun and be safe!

Todd,
The FIT kit requires changing the in tank pump out and it was actually easier to drop the tank to remove the assembly!!
The fun began when I thought I could put it back without using the supplied longer studs..........NADA!!!!!:argue :
I should have listened and saved myself a couple of hours but I'm hard headed!!

Hwy....
I went with the intercooler in the grill and yes I used the EV-111 which seems to work good?? BTW...It is easy to pull the guts out of the OEM PCV valve making it a true, non-restrictive "vent"!!
I have not "flogged" it yet but have gone to 8+ PSI and the dipstick is still where it belongs and no leaks at key places!!
I like the idea of a functioning PCV system and this setup looks like it is OK!!:)

Congrats on your selfinstall and welcome to the blown club !!:)
Take the time to tame the beast, they can be surprising, especially at this time of the year where tires are just about cold all the time.

Thanks to everyone for your responses!!
I did a rolling start yesterday afternoon and feathered it to keep from spinning then up to about 3/4 throttle....IT HIT THE 8 PSI WARNING LIGHT AND I LET IT SHIFT AT ABOUT 5400 RPM'S!!!:bows:
Greg says it should make about 10 PSI at the set shift point (6000 RPM's)?? Haven't been there yet but I'm sure I will soon!!
This thing really goes.....65 MPH feels like 35 MPH used to!!??
The only S/C'ed Marauder I every rode in was the "Black Beast" Dennis built to about 600 RWHP and it was so fast my memory was left at the stop light....
I forgot how strong it was until now!!:bows:
Stay Tuned....More to come......

Jack, Congrats on your self Install. You are the first person to install our kit on there own car. You did a great job.
You are also have the only FIT car that has no other mods. You have no gears, stall converter or aftermarket exhaust.
I can hardly wait to see what you might run at the track someday!
How are those knuckle busters doing!:baaa:

Thanks Greg!!!
I did a SS blast today (WOW....It'll spin them suckers now!!!!) and the 1-2 shift point is set at 6000 RPM's with the rev limiter set at 6250 RPM's. It still hit the rev limiter for a split second??
How much higher should the rev limiter be set to keep from hitting it with a 6000 RPM shift point??;)
Marauderjack:bows:
BTW....My first mileage check with about 50/50 town and highway (only 150 miles) and a few WOT runs yielded 19.67 MPG......Not too shabby for my new found power!! I'm sure it will get worse!!:D
PS: Knuckles are much better....Thanks!!

It has to be pretty impressive when a 4400# car blasts onto the interstate like I did this afternoon!!;)
I just have to be careful since 90+ MPH gets here in a HURRY!!:bows:

I had that "problem" also until I put the 9.5" wide Konigs and Nitto drag radials on the rear. Too much for the OEM tires to handle when your in full boost in 1st gear as with any s/c application.
Maybe look at widened rims and a 295/45 street radial. I'd say drag radials but the pretty much suck too when its cold out. Either that or keep your foot out of it. ;)

Jack, I would leave the rev limiter and shift points alone. The same thing happened to me. When your tires spin it will bounce off the rev limiter no matter where you have it set. The computer does not recognize spinning tires and it will rev up until you bounce of the rev limiter. The same with the shift points. One of the problems having the all power you do. With oem tires you can smoke them at will from both the 1st and 2nd gear shift. Until you get some drag radials, you will just have to take it easy out of the gate. But once moving, as you know, OMG the rush is great:D

Tom,
Where is your rev limiter set?? Mine was at 6700....I think that's too high since I don't want to blow the thing up!!:argue: :mad2:
I'm going to drop the air pressure in the rears to about 30-32 PSI (been running 38 PSI or so) and see if that helps?? My Nittos have 6K miles on them now with very little wear and what wear thereis seems to be very uniform.....MUCH BETTER THAN THE OEM's!!!
My Nitto fronts aren't showing any inner wear either!!:bows:
In addition to the good wear they are as smooth as silk.....no steering wheel shimmy at any speed!!

what about 3-4 thift? Guess I had the firmess too high cause on stockers I chirped and 225's I fishtail a lil. can only imagine what a S/C would do to me.

My rev limiter is set for 6550 rpm with my shift points at 6250 rpm. I didn't realize you had Nitto's. I keep my drag radials at 32 pounds on the street for around town driving. On the highway at 38 like you. At 32 lbs I still get a little spin from a dead stop, but they hook up within a 1/2 - 3/4 of a second. Also remember that in cooler weather they will spin more. I too will put Nitto's on the front once the fronts wear out. I have had them on my Mustang for years and love them.

Within a week after buying the car I put the 4.10's in. Prior to that I didn't have any problems. Car could barely spin the tires. Once s/c'd the stock tires would seriously break loose with the 2-3 shift and sometimes fishtail. Not a problem with the 3-4 though.
