I have a new co-worker that is always talking cars and how he races (one day professionally he says) and always wants to tell me about these awsome cars he used to own and race. As he tells his many stories I look outside and gaze at his 90 something Acura Integra with faded red paint and fart can on the back. He explains how it has some sort of fused motor where two motors were merged into one...whatever I think to myself.
Last night we leave work at the same time and he as usual makes it a race to get out of the parking lot first - I'm not trying to rush out so not sure why he feels the need to think I am...anyway, I'm behind him heading home through town and as we approach a deserted red light he gets over so I end up beside him at the light. I know that this is his sign to finally show me what he has.
I flip all my silly switches and wait for the light. On green, I mash it and I'm gone...his car appears to not be moving. The car ahead of me was turning right so I have to make way into the left lane (he wasn't there so no worries getting over) just as my car made a hard shift into second causing me to fish tail a bit. That was a bit fun by the way :P:D
I let off at this point and look back to see a whole lot of smoke and him flashing his lights as if to get me to turn around. I didn't :P
I would assume he blew up something or another and I am now at work awaiting his arrival. I will let you know what his tall tale is concerning last night.

It ends up his clutch is toast and maybe his transmission.
He was gunning his motor while the light was red while I just sat there idling and when the light turned green it was too much for his old clutch and he broke some stuff trying to dump it.
His car was towed to a shop and the final verdict for the poor Integra has yet to be announced. I told him I didn't notice him flashing his lights at me because of all the smoke
In this instance, the automatic won over the manual :coolman:

Ha!
Automatics don't blow a shift.
Poor dude should have "fused" the tranny too... Maybe he did ?

Perhaps he can fuse the clutch assembly to the crank shaft input orifice.

You sure he didn't just rent his pride in front of you and pay for a tow? :P

You better be glad he blew that tranny, otherwise he would've wasted you with all that power he has.

"The Fast And The Furious" became "The Smoking And The Towed". A new classic, to be sure.

Oh he pi$$ed me off!! I'm outright making fun of him in front of everyone at work and he proceeds to say that of course I beat him because he was stopped at the light and I never did come to a stop...in his words I flew through the light never slowing down so there was no race.
We sat at that red light for at least 10 seconds or more...he is such a big talker and now its just all lies :mad2:

There always seems to be one F.O.S. blowhard in every office. Have ya noticed that? Perhaps after he gets repaired you could challenge him to beat you again, this time with an audience!
